TIME TO ROC!
On August 7th we welcomed a new wave of students
and said goodbye to another graduating cohort at the
Reception-Colloquium-Orientation also known as the
ROC. The graduates of Learning Team 20 were
congratulated on their accomplishments over the past 18
months, while the new Learning Team 23 was
introduced to the program.
Outstanding Capstones were presented by LT 20 stu-
dents Evan Brennan and David Klein. Evan Brennan's
presentation was focused toward developing the profes-
sional football agent business, and David Klein ad-
dressed interscholastic sport stakeholder support. Sa-
mantha Rossi, who was unable to attend, also received
the honor of Outstanding Capstone. Her project
researched the motives and constraints that affect
student basketball attendance at small colleges. LT 20
student Chris Wilson concluded the evening with a
heart-warming speech encapsulating their 18-month
experience while passing along advice for the incoming
LT.
As for the incoming LT 23, the ROC was their first “dose”
of the program, beginning with the orientation, which
included guidance from Program Director Dr. Sharon
Guthrie, Associate Director Steve Buchan, Manager of
Student Affairs Diane Higgs, Internship Coordinator
Charles Harris, and Advisory Committee Chair Bill
Shumard.
