GRADE GUIDE USM 56AppendixThe following shows a sample of the calculations made in the process of determiningan approximate equivalent of an international academic transcript with the USMscale. The rationale for the approach and calculations as well as therecommendations are also provided.. A linear conversion is not feasible because the USM scale is not a linearscale as follows:Grade Grade Point MarkA 4.00 80 - 100A _ 3.67 70- 79B+ 3.33 64 - 69B 3.00 58 - 63B _ 2.67 52 - 57C+ 2.33 46 - 51C 2.00 40 - 45C _ 1.67 36 - 39D+ 1.33 32 - 35D 1.00 28 - 31D _ 0.67 25 - 27F 0.00 0 - 24. Based on feedback received from different countries through questionnaires,it was noted that the conversion of CGPA to USM grade system would bemore accurate every subject were to be converted into the 0 - 4 scale.. This is because the conversion is not a linear plot as the range of gradepoint is not the same. For example, an "A" is between 80 to 100 whereas"A _ " is between 70 - 79.- continued
