Twelve aretrailer/RV sites with full hook-ups. Ten sites are forwalk-in use; please park your vehicle in the nearbylot. The walk-in sites give the camper a little extraprivacy. The remaining 53 sites are of a moreconventional car-camping variety. At these sitesyou may pitch a tent or sleep in your van orcamper. All campsites have a picnic table, charcoalgrill, and fire pit. Water is found at various pointsthroughout the campground. Sites 6, 61, and 62 aredisabled accessible.Reservations Campers who wish to stayovernight for more than one night, especially inhook-up campsites, should make a reservation toallow them to remain in the same campsite.Reservations may be made year-round and arerecommended for April 1 through September 30.Phone 1-888-EBPARKS (1-888-327-2757) option 2.Group Camping Organized groups areencouraged to use the group camps rather than thefamily campground. Phone 1-888-EBPARKS(1-888-327-2757) option 2, to reserve groupcamping areas.RecreationHiking There are many hiking trails in <strong>Anthony</strong><strong>Chabot</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Park</strong>. Trails within walkingdistance of the campground are described below.Ask for an <strong>Anthony</strong> <strong>Chabot</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Park</strong> map.Towhee Trail is the best introductory hike, and itbegins right in the campground. It is a one-mile trailthat loops through the campground.Honker <strong>Bay</strong> Trail leads down to Lake <strong>Chabot</strong> –for fishing or just for the hike. Allow one andone-half hours for the round trip. Bicycles arepermitted.Recreation (continued)Huck’s Trail is the quickest way to the lake, butalso the steepest. The trail begins outside the gateto the walk-in campsites and drops downhill tomeet Honker <strong>Bay</strong> Trail.Brandon Trail, which is part of the <strong>East</strong> <strong>Bay</strong>Skyline National Trail, crosses the campgroundentrance road at the day-use parking lot. From thistrail, there is access to most other trails in <strong>Anthony</strong><strong>Chabot</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Park</strong>.NOTE: Poison Oak has been pruned as much aspossible. Nonetheless, learn to identify it, and thenavoid it.Fishing Lake <strong>Chabot</strong> is a reserve water supply, soswimming and private boating are prohibited exceptfor canoes and kayaks launched from the Marina.However, the fishing and hiking are first-rate. Thelake is frequently stocked with many kinds of gamefish. A California State Fishing License with stampsand an EBRPD Daily Fishing Access Permit arerequired for all fishers age 16 and above. Dailypermits may be purchased at the campground or atthe Lake <strong>Chabot</strong> Marina. Senior Fishing AccessPermits, good for one year from the date ofpurchase, are available for $120 to disabled personsand those age 62 and older. These are honored atall <strong>District</strong> lakes and reservoirs.Campfire Programs are led by naturalists at thecampground amphitheater in the summer.Firewood is sold at the entry kiosk. To reduce thespread of Sudden Oak Death Syndrome, woodbrought to the campground must be commerciallyprocessed and purchased.Snack Bar at the Marksmanship Range is openfrom10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays throughSundays.<strong>Campground</strong> RulesIt is the camper’s responsibility to know and followthese campground rules:• Camping is allowed only in designated areas.• A maximum of 8 persons may occupy anysingle campsite.• Two campsites per household is themaximum.• Only two motor vehicles may occupy thesame campsite. One motor vehicle is included inyour camping fee. There is an additional charge forthe second vehicle. Visitors may park at a campsiteif the two-vehicle limit is observed.• Maximum trailer length is 35 feet.• Campers must arrive before the gate closesat 10 p.m.• Motor vehicles are restricted to main pavedroads. All camping vehicles are restricted to theasphalt pad provided at each campsite.• Lawn areas are for people. No tents orhorses, please.• The campground is reserved for use bycampers. The nearest day-use picnic areas arelocated in Redwood <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Park</strong> or at the Lake<strong>Chabot</strong> Marina at the south end of <strong>Anthony</strong><strong>Chabot</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Park</strong>.• Persons under 16 years of age must beaccompanied by a parent or guardian or othercompetent adult leader who is at least 21 years old.Minors 16-17 years of age may camp, but mustcarry written permission from their parent or legalguardian. The letter must include the phonenumber at which the parent can be reached whilethe minor is in the campground.• Stay Limit: Maximum length of stay is 15consecutive days or 30 total days per year with a2-day minimum break following the first 15-day visit.• All pets must be confined within a vehicle ortent overnight, and securely leashed and underthe immediate control of a person at all times.Maximum leash length is six feet. Persons with noisyor vicious animals will be required to leave the park.• Waste water must be disposed of only at thesanitary dump station (see campground map onother side for dump station location).• Wood collection is prohibited. Ground firesare not allowed except in the fire pitsprovided. Campfires must be attended at all times.• No firearms, fireworks, or weapons of anykind are allowed in the park. The only exception isfor users of the Marksmanship Range, who mustkeep firearms unloaded and locked in the trunk oftheir vehicles.• No alcoholic beverages except beer and wine areallowed at campsites.
