EU Strategy for the Danube Region is a model of regionalcooperation at european level - inspired by the EU Strategy for Baltic Sea Region,approved by the European Council in october 2009 - which implements a newconcept of territorial cohesion in the Treaty of Lisbon.The strategy is a platform to facilitate partnerships, both among local andregional authorities and between authorities, private and NGO sector by generatingprojects for the development of the Danube region.10
