When can I use mydevice?● In class as instructed by the teacher● Students will not be expected tobring a device every day● Unless the classroom teacherspecifically allows personal devices,they must remain off and put away


Expectations● MP3 players are notpermitted in the classroom.● eBook reading is permitted at timesdeemed appropriate by the teacher.● Hallways○ Electronic device free.○ Headphones/earbuds should not beworn.


RecommendedAccessories & Apps● Headphones or earbuds may be useful(Avoid bringing high-dollar items)● Teachers may recommend apps for use inthe classroom.● A case or bag to protect from damage● While carrying a computer in a bag fromclass to class, no books or other nontechnologysupplies may be stored in thebag. (CWMS Bag Policy)


Charging Devices● There will be NO charging stationsprovided.● Battery life should be sufficient tolast the day● Make sure your device is fully chargedbefore bringing it in for the day


Ownership andResponsibilityCWMS takes no responsibilityto search for lost or stolendevices, nor is there anyassumption of financialresponsibility of CWMS fordamaged, lost, or stolenpersonal computing devices.● Your familypurchases and ownsthe device● YOU and your familyare responsible○ Lost○ Stolen○ Damaged○ Crashing - glitching -etc.


NO DEVICEIS REQUIRED● Not necessary but helpful to have Internetaccess (wired or wireless) outside of school● Many lessons allow students to worktogether, sharing information accessedthrough personal devices.● Students may use school computers andother school provided devices.● You will not be negatively affected becauseyou do not have an Internet-connecteddevice to bring to school.


What is the process?1. Complete the BYODConsent Form2. Give the completed formto your homebaseteacher.3. Your homebase teacherwill receive aninstruction sheet for youto follow in connectingyour device.


Things to remember...● Your Passcode is for 1 device● Keep the instruction sheet● Memorize your passcode● Passcode and instructions will bereturned to the teacher mailboxeswithin 2 days of receipt by TechDepartment
