It’s been a hecticNew Year behind the scenesat BAM, with many changeson the committee; I wouldlike to thank those committeemembers who left this yearfor their hard work, time andeffort; a full list of all the committee positions are listedin this newsletter and on the forum.After much debate we decided to change the AGM dateto January, this allowed our treasurer reasonable timeto present the end of year accounts. The committeedecided that due to the AGM move we would alsochange the newsletter dates, this allows us to givenotice for future AGMs and update you on the changesquickly.Before I waffle on too much, I’m sure some of youare asking who I am, so here is my brief CV - I am aserving police officer working as a forensic collisioninvestigator. I attend fatal road traffic collisions in theWest Midlands, Staffordshire and Central motorwaynetwork areas. I am an advanced police car driver andmotorcycle rider and have spent the last twelve yearsof my service on traffic or collision investigation. I havebeen a member of the IAM/BAM since 2005. I am asenior observer within the group and last year I wasvice-chair… so there you go!I have discussed many new ideas and objectives withthe committee and I am delighted that we are takingthe group forward with some positive changes. We arealready reviewing many of our current practices and Ihope to report on these during the coming months.Can I urge you all to regularly check the website(www.b-a-m.org.uk) and especially the forum as wewill be posting updates and items on these to keep youall informed of our progress. If you have not alreadyregistered for the forum please do so, it’s easy toaccess and a good way of quickly communicating withthe group.February events include the Iron Person Run on Sundaythe 17th. There are two things currently thatwe need some real help from you, the members:Guest Speakers – we need ideas and contacts for newguest speakers to keep you entertained at club nights.If you can help please email details through to eithermyself or Mark Weaver.We also have a vacancy on the committee for a GuestSpeaker Coordinator. In the role you are required tosource and contact guest speakers and liaise withthem to get them along to the club nights. You are alsoinvited to come along to committee meetings to joinin with the decision making of the group. If you wantmore information or are interested in taking up the roleplease speak with Mark or myself.Newsletter Articles – please, please, please send mearticles and pictures for inclusion in the newsletter.If you’ve done a trip, had a great motorcyclingexperience, got a favourite road or are planning a tripplease send it through to me.
