HWA CRAWFORD grew up in Seoul,Korea, among concrete buildings,asphalt streets, and very few trees.“When I came to Virginia I was amazedat the endless blanket of fields, trees,pastures, and rolling hills. I startedthe adult chapter of my life in Virginiabecause I fell in love with the naturalbeauty. My love of nature becamemore intense over the years, now I’m alandscape painter. The artistic aspectsof landscape oil painting are mypersonal passion. I see melodies andrhythms in the shapes and colors ofthe landscape. I transfer my emotionson canvas to express the way I feelabout the beauty in nature.” Hwaparticipates every October in the GreatFalls, Virginia annual art studio tour. Shehas exhibited at galleries in Middleburgand Millwood. Currently, she doescommissioned works of particularlandscapes and from favorite photographs.In November 2012, she proudlyjoined the Artists’ Undertaking Galleryin Occoquan, where she shares displayspace with 15 amazing artists. In herfree time, Hwa is very busy with twoactive teenage boys, her husband, anda full time job at an intellectual propertylaw firm. For her, art is a lifeline inher busy world. “It provides a wonderfullydeep satisfaction and paintinghas provided yet another dimensionto my life.
