No more walking back to the top. Asan adult, I realize how dangerous this could havebeen, but oh my, that was fun. Have you everheard of anyone else having such a wildexperience? Ice skating down hill?In the summertime, I would sell soda popto the golfers. <strong>We</strong> had a large freezer in ourbasement. I would go to a local beer and sodadistributor with a wagon and pull back five or sixcases of soda at a time. In Detroit, it was justknown as "pop." <strong>We</strong> were across from the tee forthe seventeenth hole. Golfers were pretty thirstyat that point. On an average weekend, I wouldclear well over $100. For a twelve-year-old in1948, that was pretty good money.Our house had a unique feature that noone else in the family knew about.
