Report of the situation of children's rights in the field of education

• To analyze the data for each of the schools included in the opinion poll and to comparethem with the data presented in this monitoring report, and discuss them with theCommittees of children rights at the target schools. In all these schools where there isvisible discrepancy of the results from the overall result, corrective measures should besuggested to improve the situation if the result is lower than expected, respectively allsuccess indicators should be analyzed if the result is higher than the average.• To use the data of the opinion poll in order to advance the work of the Committees forChildren Rights, starting from reviewing the training program up to reviewing the workprocedures of the Committees for Children Rights. Moreover, in this case the comparativeresults between the schools of the target group and the group for comparison will be usedfor this purpose.• The project will promote the work of the representative organs of the pupils at the targetschools; in particular it will promote the work of the Committees for protection ofchildren rights. All children should know their representatives in these organs and theirrole.• Children should be trained to protect themselves from the risks they face in their way fromhome to school, and the school should ask the support and cooperation from otherinstitutions in this matter such as police, center for social work etc. Children should betaught to be supportive and to protect other children belonging to minorities and othermarginalized groups.• Committees on children rights should work with pupils to help them know different formsof violence of their rights and to be able to report them at the school organs. Moreover, incooperation with the school leadership, the committees should follow closely how thesecases are handled.• Committees on children rights should promote the fact that qualitative education is aguaranteed right, so they should deal more with analyzing the success and results of thenational tests, by cooperating with teachers and with the school leadership on advancingthe situation.• Analysis of questionnaires shows that some questions should be clarified to avoid doublemeaning, while some of the procedures should be changed to adapt with conditions in thefield. For this purpose a special consultative workshop must be organized, which hasalready been foreseen by the project.• Teachers that are represented in the committee for children rights should increase theirinvolvement in supporting the functioning of these committees and should be able tomobilize school recourses to support these committees.• To strengthen parents role in support to the committees for children rights by improvingthe functionality of the parents and school boards. Committees on children rights shouldundertake joint activities with the parents Council to promote children rights to thecommunity that lives in the school neighborhood.95
