DCAD has the legal authority to award degrees from the <strong>Delaware</strong>State Board <strong>of</strong> Education.B . 3 P r o g r a m sThe <strong>Delaware</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> <strong>and</strong> Design <strong>of</strong>fers the Associate <strong>of</strong> Fine <strong>Art</strong>s degree in six majors: Animation, Fine<strong>Art</strong>s, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design <strong>and</strong> Photography. The Associate <strong>of</strong> Fine <strong>Art</strong>s <strong>of</strong> DegreeProgram serves highly-motivated students who are pursuing careers in art <strong>and</strong> design, as well as the traditionaldisciplines <strong>of</strong> the fine artist. These include diverse design opportunities in both electronic <strong>and</strong> traditionalpublishing, marketing, computer graphics, advertising, packaging, display design <strong>and</strong> photography.The Associate <strong>of</strong> Fine <strong>Art</strong>s Degree Program emphasizes studio education in art <strong>and</strong> design combined with anacademic studies program as m<strong>and</strong>ated by the relevant accrediting agencies, <strong>and</strong> the requirements <strong>of</strong> ourpartner institutions, Pratt Institute <strong>and</strong> the Corcoran <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> <strong>and</strong> Design. The studio curriculum allowsstudents to develop basic skills, concepts, <strong>and</strong> values in their respective areas <strong>of</strong> study. The Liberal <strong>Art</strong>scurriculum instructs students in oral <strong>and</strong> written communication; quantitative, visual, <strong>and</strong> information literacy;critical thinking, technology, <strong>and</strong> global citizenship.2
