These services include thesupply of industrial process water, demineralised waterand feed water to the agricultural sector. Additionally weown and operate several industrial and domestic wastewatertreatment plants.All water process plants of Evides are developedon the basis of DBFO contracts. The DBFO principle(Design, Build, Finance & Operate) means that Evidestakes responsibility at all stages of the developmentof a contract, including maintenance and long-termoperations.We offer water solutions to match even the most specific of ourclients’ requirements. In practice, this means a range of differenttypes of process water – from pre-purified surface water to ultrapuredemineralised water – for applications in the chemical andpetrochemical industry, the energy sector and the food industry.We offer reliable solutions and a guaranteed supply. In The Netherlands,we operate water treatment plants for clients such as DowBenelux, Yara, Shell, DuPont de Nemours, Huntsman, Kuwait Petroleumand Cargill. In Belgium and Germany our clients are BASF inAntwerp and Dow Chemical in Stade (near Hamburg), for whomwe produce high-quality process water from river water in ourown water treatment plants. Our demineralised water plant in theBotlek area of Rotterdam produces 1,400 cubic metres of ultra-purewater per hour – enough to supply almost the entire area betweenPernis and the developing Maasvlakte 2.We treat water with modern, cost-efficient and environmentallyfriendly technologies such as membrane filtration and ionexchange. Our water comes from a range of sources such asriver water from the river Meuse, which we collect in our reservoirsin the Biesbosch area, but also from local surface water, effluentfrom waste water treatment plants, rain water and industrialcondensates. The DBFO principle benefits bothour clients and ourselves: while we take care of our clients’ waterrequirements they can focus their full expertise and investmentbudgets on their core business. And if they like we can even takeover existing water treatment plants and integrate them with ourown facilities.As we see it, the essence of tailor-made water solutions is reliability,quality and safety – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, yearin and year out. The quality of our services is warranted throughcertification (ISO9001 and PAS55) and the commitment of ourexperienced operators. They enable us to be the biggest waterpartner to the chemical industry in the Benelux on several of thelargest industrial complexes in the area.Evides Industry Water purifies wastewater for clients such as AmsterdamInternational Airport Schiphol and for industrial zones in Delfzijland Vlissingen-Oost, home to more than 60 different companies. Bymeans of outsourcing treatment of their wastewater to Evides, thesecompanies benefit from a larger-scale operation and the expertise ofa specialised company like Evides. The Delfland Water Board choseEvides Industry Water to treat virtually all municipal wastewater in theThe Hague area, which involves operating the largest sewage treatmentplant in the Netherlands for a period of 30 years.Wherever water is used, wastewater is produced. Today, theimportance of reusing wastewater and closing the water chain isincreasing. Fresh water in coastal and arid areas is getting scarcerby the year and clients are stepping up their sustainability efforts. Bydefinition, the reuse of wastewater requires tailor-made solutions andan integrated technological approach. In the southern Dutch provinceof Zeeland we reuse the domestic wastewater of the municipality ofTerneuzen to produce high-quality demineralised process water forDow Chemical. We purify Dow Chemical’s own industrial wastewatereffluent for the purpose of cooling tower suppletion. For Cargill weuse treated effluent to produce demineralised water for steam generation.In Delft we are proceeding in our efforts to prove that treatingthe effluent of a sewage treatment plant to a very high quality allowsthe reuse of this water for watering crops in the greenhouses of theWestland area.The benefits of reusing wastewater speak for themselves: it ischeaper to reuse effluent from fresh water sources than to desalinateseawater. There are environmental benefits and reuse is a valuablecontribution to reducing demands on fresh water sources such asgroundwater. Reusing wastewater is an efficient alternative in areaswhere fresh groundwater or surface water is scarce, such as the drynorth of China. This is where in early 2010 we first set up a modularmobile demo plant. The end result: benefits forthe environment and cost savings for our clients.Our research partners in sustainability and innovation includeknowledge and research institutes in the Netherlands and abroad,such as Wetsus and the Chinese institutes of HIT (Harbin) and PAES(Xian). Evides initiated the new industrial water chair at the DelftUniversity of Technology. In addition to fundamental research weparticipate in numerous feasibility studies, in which pilot installationsare used to assess the applicability of technological designsand to determine the design parameters of full-scale plants.ChinaEvides Industriewater established her office in Beijing in theyear 2010 with the target to establish a sustainable and profitablewater utility business in China. Evides China focuses herDBFO business on the supply of industrial water treatment servicesto the (petro-)chemical and coal-based chemical industryin the North of China.In 2011 Evides established a SinoDutch Research & Developmentprogram with partner companies: TUDelft, HIT (Harbin),and PAES (Xian). This program aims to find solutions to servicethe coal-chemical industry with an optimized treatment ofwaste water, efficient water reuse and solutions for relatedenvironmental issues.In order to establish a close relationship with the Chineseindustry Evides has a demonstration plant for water reuseat her disposal. This demonstration plant is able to converttreated industrial effluent water to high quality demin water(15 m 3 /hr). The demonstration plant is built for a flexibleoperation and constructed in containers so it can be transportedfrom site to site.GermanyEvides Industriewater started its activities in Germany in 2003with the build of an installation for the production of processwater en demineralised water at DOW Chemical in Stade(near Hamburg). Since then Evides has been responsible fora 24/7 production of 800 m 3 /h of demineralised water and200 m 3 /h process water.The petrochemical industry and energy sector, two mainmarkets for Evides Industriewater, are strongly represented inGermany. Evides’ ambition is to provide chemical plants with allthe water utilities they need, by integrating existing installationswith newly build tailor-made installations.
