We put intoplace our classroom routines, like MorningMeeting and Calendar Time. We played aTop-It game in Math, discussed time andour class schedule, and introduced ourpattern blocks. We played Number Pop-Up,counted by 1s and 10s, and played NumberSqueeze on the number line.Mrs. Baker’s News1 st Week a HUGE success!Song of the WeekMrs. Baker(To the tune of: BINGO)There is a teacher who likes me so.Mrs. Baker is her name-o.B-A-K-E-RB-A-K-E-RB-A-K-E-RMrs. Baker thinks I’m neat-o!(notice the “er” sisters in Mrs. Baker’s name)We read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.We made our own fish, which are displayedon our “O-FISH-ally First Graders” bulletinboard. We talked about how we are alldifferent, with different likes and looks, butwe’re all in this “school” together!We had a lot of fun at Recess Rodeo. Welearned how to use all of the equipment. Weplayed so many fun games, including ToiletTag, Everybody’s It Tag, Sleeping Tiger, and5 (the 1 st Grade version of 500). Ask yourchild about his/her favorite game at recessrodeo!Mrs. Baker doing “A-Tooty-Ta” with the class.Scholastic Book OrdersScholastic Book Orders are due bySeptember 21 st .
