Chapter 6 — Class 8839 ALTIVAR 56 Combination DevicesBulletin No. 50006-519-01BOperation Sequence & Options December 1996SEQUENCE OFOPERATION ANDOPTIONSTerminal Command Modevs. Keypad Command ModeThis section describes basic sequences of controller operation for the three preengineeredpower circuit configurations and available options. The options are:• Power Circuit W: combination package• Power Circuit Y: bypass package• Power Circuit Z: remote starter bypass packageIn order for factory and/or user supplied pilot devices and controls to berecognized, the Class 8839 ALTIVAR 56 combination drive controller is factoryconfigured to operate in the Terminal Command mode. Switching from TerminalCommand mode to Keypad Command mode will disable power converter logicinputs. Factory and/or user-provided control devices will be ignored. For thisreason, do not operate the Class 8839 ALTIVAR 56 drive controller in the KeypadCommand mode.Consult the factory configuration listing on the applicable control circuit diagram(pages 151 to 156), and refer to Chapter 5 before reprogramming logic inputs, outputs, torque types, or control types. Changing certain factory settings willadversely affect the performance of the Class 8839 ALTIVAR 56 drive controller.WARNINGUNINTENDED EQUIPMENT OPERATION• Controller has been factory programmed. Alteration of factory programming maycreate incompatibilities with supplied controller configuration.• Read and understand Chapter 5 as well as programming information on applicablecontroller schematics, Figures 91 - 96.• If the power converter unit is re-initialized using the TOTAL or PARTIAL FACTORYSETTING function, the power converter must be re-programmed per theprogramming instructions on applicable controller schematics, Figures 91 - 96.• If the power converter unit or the main control board of the power converter isreplaced, the power converter must be re-programmed per the programminginstructions on applicable controller schematics, Figures 91 - 96.Failure to observe these instructions can result in death, serious injury, orequipment damage.138 © 1996 Square D All Rights Reservedηττπ://νιχοντρολσ.χοm
