INTRODUCTIONYou hold in your hands a spiritual map to our destiny as a church. It is a concisedescription of the where, why, and how of our relocation journey. In a similar way,the Lord urged the prophet Habakkuk to write down the vision God had placed in hisheart. The Lord answered me: “Write down the vision; write it clearly on clay tablets so whoeverreads it can run to tell others. It is not yet time for the message to come true, but that timeis coming soon; the message will come true. It may seem like a long time, but be patient andwait for it, because it wil surely come” (Habakkuk 2:2-3).As we launch our efforts to relocate the ministries of this church, I want to followthe example of the prophet and paint a picture of where God is leading us. This bookconsists of five chapters that outline the important components surrounding the relocationof Aurora First Assembly to the Southlands area of Aurora, Colorado. It isbased on David’s own legacy of building the temple as recorded in 1 Chronicles 28-29.Not only is this book a written presentation of the sermons used to launch thecapital campaign and relocation effort, but it is also a helpful resource. This book willhelp those who are new to our church family understand where we are going and why.It will remind others of the same. Others can use it as a supplemental bible study ortool for group discussion and application. Some may find it helpful in explaining ourvision and strategy to others. The book’s compact size makes it easy to carry aroundand read at your pleasure. For future generations, it will serve as a historical reminderof how others lived so they can live more abundantly. Most importantly, this book stands as a reminder of the four most importantthings that each generation must pass on to those who follow them. It is God’s recipefor legacy.—Pastor Gene RonconeApril 20065
