RECEIVING GOD’S LOVEGrowing In Love And Compassion47God’s word seems clear that we are to walk in love and purity. Withoutexception, Jesus always walked in purity and love. Because he was a purevessel, the power of God flowed through Jesus unhindered. How canyou follow Christ’s example? Honestly, how do we do that? Hopefully,by now we are assured that God’s grace gives us everything we need forlife and godliness. Love and purity must come through the Holy Spirit.Romans 5:5 is a powerful scripture and a wonderful example of how toreceive God’s love. “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’slove has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who hasbeen given to us.” Clearly, we receive God’s love by the power of the HolySpirit. Whenever we need God’s love to overflow into our hearts,we can stand under the fountain of his love. The supply is endless. Andit’s a free gift to be freely received. God’s love is given to us, Beloved. What’s your response to this amazing gift? Open your heart today andreceive a fresh infilling of God’s love.GROWING IN LOVEWe can all grow in love. Regardless of how much we currently understandand receive God’s love, there is always more. Paul understood our need togrow in love as he prayed for the church in Philippi. Consider Philippians1:9. “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more.”Abound is an interesting word. Synonyms are thrive, flourish, prosper, and overflow. God’s love is boundless and only the Holy Spirit can enable
