LEKAccessories – Accumulator tanks, chimney set and feed screwIn simple terms an accumulator tank works like a large vacuum flask that stores heat and isused together with domestic boilers with or without an integrated hot water heater – or wherethere is a great need for hot water.Example of an accumulator system for a wood burning boiler, for example,ALPHA COMBI with an integrated hot water heater.In this example the boiler already has an integrated hot water heater supplemented with anaccumulator tank. The “surplus” energy charges the accumulator tank and with the help of anautomatic control system, it is then drawn off as the need arises.K SExample with VEDEX 3300 or VEDEX 100 with several tanks equipped with electroniccharge control and an open expansion tank.When the boiler temperature exceeds the charging temperature set on the control unit (for example,75 °C) the charging pump starts up, which then transfers the heat from the boiler to theaccumulator. The electronic charge control ensures that the water temperature to the bottom ofthe boiler is not so low that the risk of condensation occurs.ACCUACCU is a range of accumulator tanks that can be docked with the wood burning boiler VEDEX1000 and VEDEX 3000, for example, to form a complete accumulation system.
