One of the firstand most important steps of this finish isthe care full attention given to handdistressing by skilled craftsmen onselected hardwoods. At that point thefinish begins the color transformation toachieve the grace full aging process bycombining various color tones such aslight grays from bleaching of the sun andwind, medium browns from the naturalpigmented wood tones, and at times, aslight appearance of light grays and orpale blues in various areas. Each colortone is carefully applied by hand toitems individually in efforts to enhanceand capture the essence of naturallyoccurring effects on wood as it reacts toexposure. Shading and hand paddingare then added to various areas to softenand blend the color tones which resultsin a casual yet sophisticated naturalappearance one would expect from thename Driftwood.TortoiseThis finish is a newer addition to ourPremium “Plus” offerings.
