Friends
In every meeting we welcome new
members to our group, always with
mixed emotions. We are glad they
found us, but we are sorry for the
circumstances that bring us
together. We understand their pain
and we hope our unconditional
friendship and understanding will
help them through their grief.
Attending a meeting for the first two
or three times takes courage, but for
many, it is the first step toward
healing. The meetings may seem
overwhelming, so we encourage you
to come to several meetings to give
yourself a chance to become more
comfortable.

Thank you everyone who came down to celebrate The Compassionate Friends Guam’s Fourth Anniversary
at the Dededo Pool on Saturday, August 15. It was a rainy day, but everyone was wet anyways. We also
celebrated the Augusts birthdays.

Our Credo
We need not walk alone. We are
The Compassionate Friends. We
reach out to each other with love,
with understanding, and with
hope.
The children we mourn have died
at all ages and from many different
circumstances. We are a
unique family because we represent
many races, creeds, and relationships.
We are young, and we
are old. Some of us are far along
in our grief, but others still feel a
grief so fresh and so intensely
painful that they feel helpless and
see no hope.
Some of us have found our faith to
be a source of strength, while
some of us are struggling to find
answers. Some of us are angry,
filled with guilt or in deep depression,
while others radiate an inner
peace but whatever pain we bring
to this gathering of The Compassionate
Friends, it is pain we will
share, just as we share with each
other our love for the children
who have died.
We are all seeking and struggling
to build a future for ourselves, but
we are committed to building a
future together. We reach out to
each other in love to share the
pain as well as the joy, share the
anger as well as the peace, share
the faith as well as the doubts, and
help each other to grieve as well
as to grow. We need not walk
alone.

To our Daughter Haven,
We remember your smile and giggles,
We remember the first time you took a bath,
We remember the first time you came home,
We remember all the things we did together as a Family,
But most of all we remember how much we loved you and still love
you every second of every minute, of every hour of every day.
We remember every Birthday and celebrate it every year.
Now your Mom and I, and Isabelle and Ethan go on in this world
missing a piece of our hearts. With our family being incomplete, we
hold you close in our hearts and thoughts…
This year you would be Five years old starting your first year in
school,
We think of all the things we would be doing with you, although you
are no longer here we live every day as if you are still in our presence.
Our wish for you is that all the things you want and dream of doing
come true, I do know the one wish that you want is for us to all be
together, and we will in due time. Be patient with us and trust in God
that we will be together again in Heaven. Thank you for the many
signs letting us know that you are not too far away and please continue
to send us more, they are what keep Me and your mother going
every day.
This year we celebrated your birthday at the pool in the rain, it was
so much fun watching your brother and sister swimming, and we
bought you a cake for you and Uncle Bert. He is there with you now
and he has the same birthday as you, Daddy misses you more than
words can say.
We will continue to remember every day that God granted us with
you.
We Love you very much more than words could say, Happy 5 TH
Birthday Haven Faith and may all your wishes come true!
