at Workplace and in Domestic Life

The topic of this tutorial can be categorized under Social Communication
and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) studies and
targets at facilitating spontaneous and informal communication
for spatially distributed people by exploiting smart environments
and ambient intelligence. As our given title to this tutorial comprises
of an interdisciplinary field, we welcome participants from
various disciplines, e.g. social studies, psychology, interaction
design, communication, and Internet-of-Things. Our goal is both
to raise awareness and also build prototypes on how everyday
mobile objects and/or situations at workplace and at home can
facilitate social communication through HCI methods in another
way than the current typical synchronous and asynchronous
communication means. The topic of the MUC 2015 “Gemeinsam
Arbeit erleben” fits very well to the topic of this tutorial, as the
tutorial handles, among others, social and informal communication
(gemeinsam/erleben) at workplace (Arbeit).
