welcome

to An Táin Arts Centre

An Táin Arts Centre was established in 2014 to

reimagine Dundalk’s Town Hall as a point of access

to arts and culture for the people of North Louth.

Our aim is to provide a diverse selection of local

arts, national tours, workshops, visual arts and inhouse

productions, and we hope that our seasonal

programmes have delivered this over the past

twelve months. We hope to continue in this vein in

the coming months, and we have worked to expand

our offerings to include more events for young

people, additional movie programming and some

exciting new comedy.

A whistle-stop tour: Culture Night will see late

night opening in the Basement Gallery, a new

comedy play in the Studio Theatre and a free,

fun PechaKucha-style event in partnership with

Creative Spark. The following week, Dundalk’s

Youth Arts Festival will feature the unique comedy

stylings of Ger Carey and an exciting urban art

workshop tailored to young adults. For our younger

age groups we also have some wonderful shows

programmed, including Pitschi and The Fairy

Fixers – a perfect foray into performance for early

years audiences. In September we launch our Silver

Screen movies for older audiences, featuring a

daytime selection of much-loved classics and the

best of contemporary cinema. Meanwhile, our

evening Film Club continues to grow, showcasing

a varied selection of world cinema every month.

Comedy comes to An Táin Arts Centre with

Jason O’Callaghan’s Comedy Hypnosis show in

September and the always hilarious Nualas follow

up in October with their new show Lock Up Your

Husbands. Visual arts programming for the coming

months features two group exhibitions. First we

have Come to the Edge, a Creative Spark/Create

Louth residency exhibition, followed in November

by Louth Craftmark Designers Network who present

Establish Change, an exhibition featuring fourteen

craftspeople, designers and artists based in the North

East. Following the success of The Picture of Dorian

Gray and Alice in Wonderland, Quintessence Theatre

continues their residency at An Táin Arts Centre with

new work presented in the Basement Gallery – Vessel

is a theatre production you definitely won’t want to

miss. And remember – there’s always more going on,

so keep an eye on our website for more news and

events as they arise.

Booking is easy with our secure website where you

can choose your seat and book your tickets at a time

that suits you. Our box office is also open Tuesday to

Saturday 10.00 to 16.00, and our staff will be more

than happy to help you with your booking in person

and by telephone.

An Táin Arts Centre aims to be a place for the

community to celebrate in creativity and enjoy the

best of local and national art. As we celebrate our first

anniversary we would like to thank our funder Louth

County Council, and the volunteers, local groups and

audiences who have made it all possible. Together, we

are striving to make this a space for everyone to enjoy,

and hope you join us.
