Hello Readers
I’ve been very
fortunate this month
to meet yet another
Oracle reader who
is doing something
rather special for
charity. In October
Kirsty Laird is
walking along part
of the 1st World
War Frontline. It’s
a fundraising event
for ABF The Soliders’ Charity. Kirsty is doing
it in memory of her Great Great Grandfather
who fought and died there and she was proud
to show me his medals. Read her story on
page 14.
We have a special pull
out leaflet in our centre
pages this issue. If you
haven’t already heard
about ‘timebanking’
now’s your chance to
1
find out about it and even
join in. Timebanking is
a unique form of volunteering when people
give their own time and skill in return for other
people’s. The only currency is time!
Don’t forget to keep your Oracle close at
hand for all those jobs that need doing before
autumn sets in. All the best,
Kirsty
