4 August 2012 The Inside Edge
The Las Vegas Ski and Sports Club at the
Super Summer Theatre production of
‘Oliver’, Saturday, July 21, 2012
We did our part to support the fine arts in Las Vegas, on Saturday, July 21,
2012 at the musical production of ‘Oliver’ at the Spring Mountain Ranch State
Park, with one of our biggest groups yet of nineteen. I was a little concerned
about a bad review, but I am glad that I kept an open mind and enjoyed
the performance.
The threat of storms did not deter us in our enjoyment of the evening;
Thankfully, the lightning remained in the far north part of the valley and the
downpour of rain waited patiently until after the final curtain call, and
pummeled us all the way to our vehicles. [Note to self: bring light rain-gear
next time rain is forecast.]
We enjoyed some wonderfully prepared sushi; a light dinner for the occasion,
with wine, cheese and crackers, some picnic dinners and even some KFC. The
snack bar also provided some inexpensive non-alcoholic beverages, popcorn,
chips, hotdogs, cookies… I am not telling you everything that I ate, but I felt it
necessary to sample everything, purely in the interest of scientific investigation
and reporting accuracy.
Thanks again for Mal Singer’s effort in setting up our reserved seating area and
to Bill Ehe for providing the box dinners.
