• A focussed, strategic approach to partnership development in the UK and

overseas.

Objectives recommended for the achievement of this aim:

• Have deeper relationships with those partners identified as strategically

important.

• Pull back from some partnerships in order to focus on others that are more

important.

• Communicate more fully, within and outside the University, our excellent

work with partners.

• Accredit or approve employer partners (see also the Enterprise &

Employability section).


Learning, Teaching &

Research Enhancement

Suggested aims for the future:

• High quality learning, teaching and research, enhanced by staff development

opportunities and the sharing of good practice.

• Graduates who are employable, critical and creative thinkers, and who

engage in lifelong learning.

Objectives recommended for the achievement of these aims:

• To be determined within the new Learning & Teaching and Research

strategies for 2010-15.

Academic Portfolio

Suggested aims for the future:

• A diverse curriculum that reflects the needs of students, employers and

society.

Objectives recommended for the achievement of this aim:

• Gather better intelligence on the courses that students, employers and

society are demanding.

• Offer more flexible learning options for those with family, time,

transportation and/or economic constraints.

• Expand the range of cross-Faculty courses (e.g. Advertising – involving

Business Management, Design, Linguistics, etc.)

• Develop a common framework for taught Masters degrees.
