PRC 2013-14 Excavation and Installation of Harbourview

Trail Junction

PRC 2013-13 Black Ash Trail / Mountain Road Crossing

The Clerk at the Collingwood Municipal Offices, 97 Hurontario Street,

Collingwood, Ontario will receive Proposals until 3:00 p.m. local time on

Thursday, July 11, 2013 for:

PRC 2013-14 Excavation and Installation of

Harbourview Trail Junction

The Town of Collingwood is calling for quotations for the provision of a

qualified contractor for the construction of the Harbourview Trail Junction.

Harbourview Park is located along the Collingwood waterfront stretching

from Birch Street west to Hickory Street. The Harbourview Trail Junction

is located in the Arboretum at the end of Hickory Street. The intent of

the RFQ is to retain a qualified contractor to provide excavation and

remove portions of an existing trail and install a 3 metre wide asphalt

trail according to Town Construction standards. The drawing included in

the RFQ packaged indicates the general work area but a site visit is

necessary to confirm the exact trail location.

PRC 2013-13 Black Ash Trail / Mountain Road Crossing

The Town of Collingwood is calling for tenders for the provision of

a contractor for the relocation of the Blash Ash Trail / Mountain Road

pedestrian crossing. The intent of the tender is to retain a qualified

contractor to provide installation of new rail, end treatments, and

crash cushions and the location or protection of utility services during

construction.

Proposals must be submitted in conjunction with prescribed forms. The

Tender / Quotation documents are available by contacting the Parks

Recreation and Culture office, by telephone at 705-444-2500 Ext. 3236,

.Interested parties are asked to submit a completed proposal no later

Notice of Sale of Surplus Land

In addition to notice provided on June 29, 2012, as required in

the Town of Collingwood’s Land Sale By-law, it is the Town of

Collingwood’s intention to consider a by-law to accept an offer to

purchase a 7.57 acre portion of land at the Collingwood Regional

Airport previously deemed surplus, at a Council meeting held no

earlier than Monday July 8, 2013 at 5:00pm. The sale of land is

to be in keeping with the long term objectives of the Collingwood

Regional Airport and enhance its current operations.

Position Summary:

Employment

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing confidential

administrative support to the Mayor, Council and CAO which includes preparing

documents and presentation material; screening incoming correspondence,

enquiries and phone calls; drafting letters and official information releases;

arranging and attending meetings and taking and distributing minutes;

maintaining the records; reviewing and coding standard expenditures for the

Mayor and maintaining accounting records; coordinating travel arrangements;

and providing administrative support to elected officials, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Diploma in a business or office administration program together with five (5)

years’ of experience in a senior administrative role, preferably in a municipal

environment.

2. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications,

and office equipment.

3. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, decision making,

time management, interpersonal, public relations and customer service skills.

4. Ability to multi-task, cope with interruptions and work under pressure to meet

multiple deadlines, exercise discretion and good judgment particularly when

handling highly confidential/sensitive information. Possess a high level of

initiative and personal integrity.

5. Knowledge and understanding of Council protocol and municipal functions,

current local/corporate/regional issues, and other government processes

and functions, as well as that of other local agencies/boards that are closely

involved with the Town, i.e.: Chamber of Commerce, BIA., COLLUS, and

Boards of Education.

6. Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS

and all provincial legislation and policies that affect municipalities.

7. Ability and willingness to travel within the community and out of town as

required.

8. Possess Criminal Check with acceptable results to the Town of Collingwood.

Salary: $25.99 to $31.57 per hour @ 35h/w. Please refer to the Town of

Recreational Facilities to be Named

Council is seeking the public’s participation in naming the new recreational

facilities (pool and arena) located in Central Park and Heritage Park. At its

meeting held June 24, Council proposed the consideration of Centennial

Aquatic Centre and Central Park Arena as the official names for these facilities,

inviting the public to submit comments in regard to the proposed names.

In addition, if you have a name you would like to propose for the new

recreational facilities, submit your SUGGESTED NAME, clearly identifying

which recreational facility you are naming, including the following in your

submission:

• Background information including the rationale for your name;

• Biographical information if named after an organization or individual; and

• Documentation including letters from organizations and individuals

providing support for the name.

3 Month Seasonal Contract

Collingwood is located in the heart of Ontario’s finest four-season

destination area. Collingwood offers a combination of old time charm and

history with the best recreation in Southern Ontario. Live, Work and Play!

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible to perform maintenance and

repairs at all Town Parks, including sports fields, open spaces, facilities, parking

lots and trails;. The weekend crew is schedule ten (10) hour shifts Thursday to

Monday weekly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prefers an Ontario Secondary School Diploma together with three (3)

months of related experience.

2. Ability to operate and perform minor maintenance on a riding lawnmower,

push lawnmower, power weed eater; ability to understand / apply standard

operating procedures.

3. Ability to work independently and perform minor maintenance functions;

i.e., painting, equipment repairs; ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

4. Ability to work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety

Act, WHMIS, applicable legislation, regulations, statues and departmental

policies/procedures/practices and operational guidelines.

5. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the general public, rental

organizations and staff.

6. Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s License in good standing.

7. Valid First Aid, CPR, AED certificates an asset.

8. Possess Criminal Check with acceptable results to the Town of Collingwood.

Salary: $14.00 to $15.50 per hour @ 40h/w. Please refer to the Town of
