(RGIPT) has been set up to cater to
the needs of ever demanding energy
sector. With an intense focus on oil
and gas domain, it aims at
developing human resource to serve
this vital sector of the economy by
nurturing professionals who are
trained to deal with the challenges of
this dynamic industry. To fulfill the
demand-supply gap of skilled
professionals, the institute came into
existence through an Act of
Parliament and has been accorded
the eminence of being an 'Institute of
National Importance'. Also known
as the 'Petrocrats', RGIPTians, who have the unique advantage of
being part of an institute promoted by six power houses of the
Indian petroleum sector (ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, OIL, GAIL and
HPCL) and the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB), are
tailor made for the industry and motivated to make a positive
impact.

abroad.
