Director’s Report
As you are aware, March 21 st was the day of our
First Term Conferences with parents and students
conducting 15 minute conferences with the
student’s learning mentor. We had an amazing
turnout and hope that you all booked in for
meetings with your child’s learning mentor and with
their coaches as it provided parents with important
information about the student dashboard. The
dashboard provides an overall picture of student
progress and we hope that it will help to set goals
for 2013.
RSA Facebook Page
If you haven’t already joined up to the RSA
Facebook page I would encourage all members of
the RSA community to do so. It not only provides
families with a very up to date view of events in
RSA, but also has a variety of photos and videos of
the students in classes and in coaching sessions.
School Sport Victorian Teams
I have signed many, many forms for students
trialling for SSV State teams in a wide variety of
sports. I urge families to check the School Sport
Victoria (SSV) website for trial dates and processes.
A reminder that students who make a Victorian team
in their RSA sport are eligible for a $1000 discount
on their 2014 fees.
RSA families after his amazing visit to RSC.

Intermediate Volleyball Foursome
Hit the Big League
Peter Bundy, Sabrina Bondini & Phil Freere
Volleyball Coaching Staff
After only 7 weeks of involvement in the
RSA Volleyball Program (a sport they had
not played before) Ryan Wishart, Andrew
Challis, Marlon McLeod and Tyrone Tonkin
are headed for the big league having
signed with Dandenong Volleyball Club for
the 2013 Junior State League season.
All four boys have shown great potential with
Andrew taking on a setting role while Ryan will
be a centre hitter. Marlon and Tyrone will hit
from the outside. We will follow their
development with interest as the season starts
at the end of April.
Junior netballers
Netball News
RSA Sports Report
The Junior netballers are already beginning to
show significant improvement in their ball
handling and footwork skills. They are working
to make sure their landings allow an efficient
outside pivot, a quick release and a take off that
moves them into the next free space. This may
sound easy... but putting it all together under
pressure can make the difference between
keeping or loosing posses
Inter netballers
The Intermediate netballers are busily working
away on their SMSS systems!! To use the width
and depth of the court spreads the defence and
allows us to open the court and move the ball
through court with speed and angles. This space
creation and long court system can be difficult to
master, but we are seeing the improvements on
the court under pressure.
Senior netballers
The Seniors are using their on court time to work on
small unit systems, and the 4 area defence off a centre
pass. This is a difficult defensive style to master but we
have been working hard to add this to our repertoire, it
will disrupt our opponents play and give us plenty of
turnovers
RSA’s International Presence
On Wednesday March 20th, RSC had the great privilege of hosng the Possible Dreams Internaonal Choir, a group made of young
people from Swaziland whose lives have been forever changed by HIV Aids and poverty. Aer a month of touring Australia singing
their songs of hope, they visited our College to spend the aernoon with our students, and the evening singing for the Rowville
community in our PAC.
Our RSA students had a great me showing them how to decorate their own boomerangs in Mrs George’s Technology class, and
kindly donated the enre class’s finished products to the choir members who did not have the chance to make their own. The enre
day was an amazing success and the whole College ought to be congratulated for making our internaonal guests feel so welcome!
