<strong>Fundraising</strong> tips<br />

There are so many ways to fundraise.<br />

Here’s a few ideas to get you started…<br />

<strong>Fundraising</strong> needn’t be scary, just remember<br />

that every donation counts no matter the size.<br />

Here are a few tips…<br />

1. Sponsored run, swim, walk, dance, crawl…<br />

2. Hold an event such as a coffee morning,<br />

a party, pub quiz or a fashion show<br />

3. Get baking mmm... yummy!<br />

4. Gather all your old toys, clothes etc and hold<br />

a garage sale<br />

5. Go high-tech and sell some of your old electricals<br />

on Ebay<br />

6. Run a tennis, badminton or football tournament<br />

7. Get sponsored to run or cycle to work<br />

for a week<br />

8. Ask at school or work if you can have<br />

a dress down day<br />

9. Donate your pay, encourage your friends<br />

and colleagues to donate one day’s pay<br />

10. ‘Come dine with me’, invite your friends and<br />

family over as paying guests at your very own<br />

dinner party<br />

11. Charge for your chores – washing up,<br />

washing the car, vacuuming the house<br />

12. Introducing the swear jar at work<br />

and home, enforcing a small donation<br />

for every swear word uttered<br />

1. If fundraising with a deadline, start early so<br />

you have plenty of time<br />

2. Spread the word , the more people who<br />

know what you are doing the more people who<br />

can donate or come to the event<br />

3. Don’t be afraid to ask for donations, you are<br />

not asking for yourself but for someone who<br />

needs help<br />

4. Explain why you are raising money for UJIA<br />

and why it’s important to you<br />

5. Set up an online donation page<br />

6. Keep people updated on your progress<br />

from training to event planning. Facebook fan<br />

pages and twitter are great for this<br />

7. Always ask your supporters to Gift Aid their<br />

donation if eligible<br />

8. Try and make your first online or paper<br />

donation high to start a trend<br />

9. Ask for help, get your friends and<br />

family involved – fundraise as a team<br />

10. Keep it simple<br />
