Today the AIBD is addressing efficiently some of the more complex challenges that broadcasters<br />

are facing worldwide, a role of being more than just an ordinary research and<br />

training instute. In addion to training, the Instute is taking iniaves to promote<br />

pluralism and cultural diversity in the electronic media at a me when globalisaon is<br />

endangering tradional values and engendering mistrust and fear. Media dialogue is a<br />

correcve iniave to search for beer mutual understanding and this is what AIBD aims<br />

to achieve in gatherings such as the Asia Media Summit.<br />

I thank you all for joining us and for your contribuons. I also thank our sponsors that<br />

made it possible for AIBD members to reap the benefits from a concerted internaonal<br />
