Shifting operations<br />

Definition: A simplicial complex ∆ on [n] is shifted if, for<br />

F ∈ ∆, i ∈ F and j ∈ [n] with j > i, one has (F \ {i}) ∪ {j} ∈ ∆.<br />

Note that ∆ is shifted if and only if I ∆ is squarefree strongly<br />

stable.
