StainMates’ bath capacity can easily be expanded
from 10 to 12. Additional baths simply clip to either
side of the main StainMate unit. Alternatively
these end positions can be used to accommodate
a slide drying station as shown. Other StainMate
accessories include: Fume hoods and plumbing
kit for running water wash stations.

Histopathology
• Small enough to fit on top of a Cryostat,
StainMate can be used for rapid
H&E staining of frozen sections
• Other applications within Histopathology
include: performance of special stains
(StainMate Mini), staining of Neuropathology
slides and the staining of larger Mega and
Super Mega slides
Cytology
• Ideal for in-clinic staining, remote from the
main laboratory
• StainMate can be used in Non-Gynae clinics for
carrying out examination of breast or head and
neck fine needle aspirates
• Also suitable for rapid Giemsa and rapid
Papanicolau staining
Haematology
• StainMate is ideal for MGG (May Grunwald/
Giemsa) staining of blood smears and bone
marrow samples
Microbiology
• StainMate handles Gram staining protocols for
bacterial differentiation with ease
Two, 10 bath, StainMate models are available. The
StainMate Mini with its 38ml dish/bath capacity is
ideal for expensive staining techniques and special
staining procedures whilst, with its larger 200ml
dish/bath capacity StainMate Max is designed for
larger batch sizes.
