Energy-Saving
in Style
In winter, up to 50% of the heat in our homes escapes through the windows and on
sunny days in summer excessive radiant energy pours in. By fitting energy-saving
window coverings, we can reduce the energy we use to heat, light and cool our homes
by up to 30%. Not only is that a huge cost-saving over time, it’s a significant contribution
to reducing our carbon emissions.
There are many ways of covering windows, whether for insulation, controlling solar
heat or optimising daylight, all of which reduce energy consumption and enhance the
comfort of a room – as long as they are correctly fitted.
At The Pole Company, we have been advising on, supplying and fitting energy-saving
window coverings for over 20 years. We have a background in interior design, so you won’t
have to compromise on the look of your room to reduce your energy bills. And to set your
mind at rest, we actively search out suppliers whose products are sustainably sourced
and manufactured and can easily be recycled: all in all a big step forward for your
ecological footprint.
Shutters
A stylish and effective way of
insulating windows, shutters
have the added advantage of
filtering daylight into a room,
lending it a soft, ambient
glow and reducing the need
for electric lighting. When
closed, the veins trap a layer
of insulating air next to the
window. S Craft shutters have
an L- shaped frame to block
out draughts around the edge
of the window frame, whilst
Luxaflex vinyl shutters are
100% recyclable.
Close-Fitting Wood
Venetian Blinds
The closest-fitting wood
venetian on the market is
made by S Craft. This cleverlydesigned
blind has cords on
the outer edges of the slats,
so there are no cord holes and
the slats touch when closed,
eliminating draughts. All our
blinds are fitted with Child
Safety Clips to comply with
EU regulations.
Curtains with
Thermal Linings
A traditional choice of draughtproofing,
the luxury and
softness of curtains make
for a cosy home, particularly
when they are thermally-lined.
This provides a more effective
insulating barrier than lined
and interlined curtains. Our
range of thermally-lined
curtains from Drapes can be
co-ordinated with an extensive
choice of curtain poles and
tracks to suit your décor.
Roman Blind with
Thermal Lining
Our roman blinds from Drapes fit edge to edge
within the window frame to reduce draughts.
We have an extensive range of fabrics to choose
from, or you can supply your own. When lined
with thermal lining, these blinds are more
effective insulators than the traditionally lined
and interlined version. All our blinds are fitted
with Child Safety Clips to comply with EU
regulations.
Luxaflex Duette
Architella Shade ®
The honeycomb pleated fabric of the Luxaflex
Duette Architella Shade® traps three air pockets
between its four layers, doubling the insulating
properties of a window in winter and reducing the
entry of solar radiation in summer by half. This
is one of the most energy-efficient blinds on the
market. All our blinds are fitted with Child Safety
Clips to comply with EU regulations.
