Clinic Staff

Melinda Fischer, Head Coach

Head Coach Melinda Fischer, now in her

29th season at the helm of a highly successful

softball program at Illinois State

University, has established herself and her

team in a league of their own. A 2012

NCAA Regional birth highlights the teams

recent success but is not overshadowing

of its long-term accolades which include:

six conference coach of the year honors,

two regional coach of the year citations,

NFCA Hall of Fame, twenty All-American and countless

other team and individuals honors.

Tina Kramos, Associate Head

Softball Coach

Tina Kramos is in her 14th season at Illinois

State after a successful softball career,

both as a player and coach. A twotime

member of the All-MVC first team

highlighted her success as a player for

league member Missouri State. After graduation,

Kramos became as assistant coach

at Colorado-Colorado Springs before moving

to Nicholls State. Her coaching experience brought her

to the Redbirds. Tina competed for Greece in the 2004

Shannon Nicholson,

Assistant Coach

Shannon Nicholson enters her 6th season

as the pitching coach for the Redbirds. One

of the most prolific pitchers to ever emerge

from the Illinois State Softball program,

Nicholson took her collegiate pitching prowess

to the sport’s highest level, as she began

her professional softball career in the

summer of 2008 as a member of the Akron racers in the

National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league. Nicholson is the sixth

Redbird softball player all-time to play professionally.
