Collaboration<br />
We have teamed up with Swarovski CREATE<br />
YOUR STYLE to create a brand new and<br />
sparkling collaboration. Shine is the new range<br />
of yarns, designs and tailored crystal packages<br />
from Rowan and Swarovski. Swarovski<br />
approached Rowan as they felt that our<br />
collection of premium yarns would fit perfectly<br />
with their stunning crystals to create beautiful<br />
hand crafted garments and accessories. With<br />
this in mind, we have developed two stunning<br />
collections featuring some of our most luxurious<br />
yarns knitted with Swarovski crystals. The Day<br />
Collection showcases pieces suitable for a day<br />
out, whilst The Evening Collection features<br />
dazzling garments and accessories for a special<br />
night out. Further to this, we introduce Rowan<br />
Kidsilk Haze Shine; a new take on the everpopular<br />

Jennie<br />
Atkinson<br />
Jennie Atkinson has been designing knitwear and exploring<br />
texture, colour and shape for over 25 years, with her designs<br />
regularly featuring in Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazines,<br />
The Knitter magazine and Vogue Knitting.<br />
Her training in fashion design and pattern cutting and the<br />
experience of dealing with customers in her bespoke design<br />
business has created an understanding of interesting, wearable<br />
garments which are designed to fit and flatter.<br />
Jennie has also had a long-standing interest in fashion history<br />
and studied an MA course at the Royal College of Art in 2005.<br />
Research into the history of knitting patterns and fashions<br />
from the late 19 th and early 20 th century is apparent in many<br />
of Jennie’s designs today, including her book A Handknit<br />
Romance, published in 2012.<br />
We caught up with talented designer Jennie on video and<br />
talked to her about her design background, inspiration and<br />
experience of working on our exclusive Swarovski CREATE<br />
YOUR STYLE collaboration.<br />

Situated in Wattens, Austria, the Swarovski Design<br />
Centre Headquarters houses a dedicated team of<br />
design and trend managers, which is credited with the<br />
fabulous, sparkling designs of CREATE YOUR STYLE.<br />
From design research, through to product, textile and<br />
jewellery design, the Design Centre HQ fuses creative<br />
magic and practicality into compelling designs and<br />
inspirational studies. It also boasts a heavy involvement<br />
in the process of coming up with new, on-trend colours<br />
and shapes for the crystal range and is on hand as a<br />
technique resource, helping with ideas on how to use<br />
the brilliant crystals to maximum effect.<br />

There are two project ideas in this Knit Along, a stockinette, crew-neck pullover with<br />
a simple, sand-stitch front and a V-neck, 3/4 sleeve cardigan.<br />
It’s called Options Knit along for a reason. Colour can change, sleeve and body<br />
lengths as well as structual items can change too. You select the changes as you<br />
decide on your project.<br />
