THE OPPORTUNITY BRANCH MANAGER
As a Branch Manager with Interior Savings, you are a key contributor to leading a team. You
will lead your team by servicing member needs and delivering relevant products and services.
You drive the business to increase the member’s share of wallet and assets under
administration. You will focus on activities that align with the strategic objectives of the four
pillars of the Balanced Scorecard of Financial, Member, Business Operations and Learning and
Growth.
Through your coaching and leadership you will lead your team to increase member
participation level’s and ensures the CU is their primary financial institution. You are
responsible for leading and executing on sales and service strategies in support of your regions
corporate business goals. As a coach and a leader you are actively engaged with your team on
strategies to meet the immediate needs of the members while looking for opportunities to
educate members on alternative channels. You look for opportunities to assist your team with
providing guidance in structuring investment and credit solutions. You foster a positive team
environment through proactive participation in providing assistance to your staff and take an
active role in their career development activities.
With an appropriate combination of knowledge and experience, this position could lead to the
position of Regional Manager, Assistant Vice President Sales and Service, Manager Consumer
Credit, Regional Manager Small Business.
Technical Competencies
Manage controllable expenses and branch budget;
Maximize the results of the team by developing, communicating and executing monthly
business plans that are aligned with the corporate strategies;
Contribute to the overall success of Interior Savings Credit Union by demonstrating
behaviors that are consistent with Interior Savings Vision, Mission and Values;
Work closely with the Account Managers to ensure a strong branch relationship and to
move members from core services to relationship services;
Coach to and follow the Service Leadership selling model when referring members,
preparing for meetings and asking questions;
Provide weekly coaching to your team in the following areas:

Create branch campaigns to promote ISCU products and services;
Grow business in the community by building relationships with centres of
influence such as realtors, lawyers, accountants, etc.;
Maintain a high level of member satisfaction and address member complaints in
a timely manner; and
Coaching to ensure that potential relationship services members are referred to
Account Managers (e.g. Right member right offer).
Active involvement in working with our other channels; Online, Member Service Centre
in support of servicing the relationship members;
Manage branch security and safety while adhering to corporate policies and
procedures;
Work closely with the Regional relationship Manager in ensuring a strong branch
relationship and to move members from core services to relationship services;

Manage key HR functions;

Interviewing and hiring;
Coaching and training;
Conducting performance reviews;
Initiating performance improvement plans and progressive discipline as needed.
Administer the Collective Agreement and Terms and Conditions of Employment, as
they apply to employees in the branch.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate will possess the following general knowledge and skills:
A university degree in a related field plus the Associate of the Credit Union Institute
designation or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Seven to nine years of leadership/management experience preferably in the financial
services sector;
Knowledge of: employment laws and other relevant legislation, strategic management
practices and accounting principles and practices; and
Proven sales and service experience in the financial industry.
