Choose the default values for the next few screens. When you arrive at the panel shown in<br />

Figure 3.4, you will need to type in a user ID which will be used to setup and run the<br />

instance and other services.<br />

If you use an existing user ID, this user must be part of the Local Administrator group in<br />

Windows.<br />

If the user ID does not belong to an existing user, it will be created as a Local<br />

Administrator. You can leave the domain field blank if the user ID does not belong to a<br />

domain.<br />

The default user ID name in Windows is called db2admin. In the case of Linux, the default<br />

user ID created is called db2inst1.<br />
