') Vuosien 1961-1985 arvot ovat 17:n eri puolilla Suomea sijaitsevan näytteenkeräysaseman keskiarvoja. Vuosien 1986-1997 arvot ovat yhdeltä havaintoasemalta, jonka
,37Cs-laskeuma vuonna 1986 oli samaa suuruusluokkaa kuin Suomeen levinnyt TSernobyl-laskeuma keskimäärin. Huippuarvot vuosina 1960-1985 johtuivat ilmakehässä
tehdyistä ydinasekokeista. Pääasiassa 1960-luvun alussa tehtyjen suurten ydinkokeiden radioaktiivisesta saasteesta osa joutui stratosfääriin ja aiheutti seuraavina
vuosina laskeumaa, vaikka uusia kokeita ilmakehässä ei juuri enää tehty. Vuonna 1986 Tgernobylin onnettomuus aiheutti huomattavan ,37Cs-laskeuman.

där nedfallet av Cesium 137 år 1986 var av samma storleksklass som det nedfall från Tjernobyl som nådde Finland i medeltal. Toppnoteringarna under perioden 1960-1985
berodde på de kärnvapenprov som utfördes i atmosfären. En del av de radioaktiva föroreningarna vid de stora kärnvapenproven i början av 1960-talet kom ut i stratosfären
och gav under de följande åren upphov till nedfall trots att mycket få nya prov i atmosfären gjordes. Olyckan i Tjernobyl 1986 medförde ett stort nedfall av Cesium 137.
’I The values for 1961-1985 are mean values o f 17 sampling stations located in different parts o f the country. The values for the ten-year period 1988-1997 are from one
observation point where the deposition o f Caesium-137 in 1986 was o f the same size as the deposition from Chernobyl in Finland on average. The peak values in the
period 1960-1985 were attributable to nuclear weapon tests in the atmosphere. Part o f the radioactive contamination resulting mainly from the big nuclear tests o f the
early 1960's w as released into the stratosphere and caused deposition in the following years, although hardly any new tests were made in the atmosphere. The accident
o f Chernobyl in 1986 caused considerable deposition o f Caesium-137.
