Welcome to Woodstock Park from The Club Secretary
Good afternoon everyone, welcome
to Woodstock Park.
Our visitors are Chipstead. Welcome to
their players, officials and supporters and
this afternoons match officials.
Chipstead have had a difficult season so
far and have just parted with their second
manager this season, Lyndon Buckwell.
Last season we drew 1-1 at Woodstock
and won the match at Chipstead 2-
1.
Our poor run continued at a wet and
windy Woodstock last Saturday. The 2-1
defeat at the hands of Carshalton Athletic
was our eleventh defeat in the last
twelve games. A run that has taken us
down from 5 th in the table to just above
the relegation zone at the moment populated
by Whitstable Town, Chipstead and
East Grinstead Town. It’s difficult to fathom
why a team that had only one defeat
in eleven games should then have such
a poor run of results. Only one of the defeats
have been by more than one goal
(the 2-0 defeat at Hastings). I do know
that Nick is doing his best to improve
matters. He has bought in Dane Luchford
–a proven goalscorer and brought
back to Sittingbourne experienced midfelder
Peter Smith. A seven day approach
has gone in for another forward
and I will keep you posted on this and
any more team news.

The weather was absolutely atrocious.
We are just sorry that your support was
not rewarded with a better result. That
the game was on at all was amazing.
New groundsman Roger with the help of
Colin Page did a fantastic job getting the
pitch prepared.
Last Tuesdays scheduled Quarter final
Alan Turvey league cup match sponsored
by Robert Dyas was postponed
because Hastings United had to play
their abandoned FA Trophy match. As I
write this no new date has been arranged.
It could be that the league will
want us to alter a midweek match already
arranged for the next couple of
weeks so that we can complete the tie.

makes things a lot easier for us. Please

Next Tuesday we were due to play Walton
& Hersham in the league, however, we
have been instructed by the league to play
our Ryman League Cup match at Hastings
United instead. The match at Walton &
Hersham will now most likely be played on
Tuesday 5th January but that is yet to be
confirmed. Next Saturday we play Hythe
Town away.
