Berkeley Hall Club is a private gated golf community edged

on the banks of the pristine Okatie River in the heart of the

Coastal Lowcountry - a world with a casual, inviting lifestyle

that sets the standard for all private communities.

Our 980-acre property is unique among top private golf

communities. With two world-class Tom Fazio golf courses and a

stunning Jeffersonian-style clubhouse that form the "Core" of the

community, the 554 homes/home sites are arranged around the 36

holes' perimter allowing two walkable classic courses that feel more

like a golf retreat. The community offers generous home setbacks;

including beautiful lagoons, strategic live oaks and lolloby pines which

all accentuate the course routings. Mr. Fazio sums up the Berkeley

Hall golf experience as "every round feels like a walk in the park.."

Member-owned and operated since January 2005, Berkeley Hall is

debt-free and maintains a multi-million dollar capital reserve.

In addition, the Club follows a fiscally responsible 5-year plan with

no foreseeable need for assessments in the future.

Berkeley Hall is and will continue to be a beautifully maintained

residential golf community offering exceptional lifestyle choices and

value to its members and their guests by providing premier golf, first

class fitness, high-quality dining and a variety of social activities, all

delivered with personalized service in a welcoming environment.

Berkeley Hall's guiding vision is to be recognized as one of the top

residential golf communities in the Southeast region of the US and

will distinguish itself by:

Berkeley Hall’s Rich History

Lord John Berkeley of Stratton, an English army officer and colonial proprietor

of the 17th Century, was one of seven original lords of the Carolina colonies.

Rewarded for his steadfast loyalty to the King of England and the royal family,

Berkeley (along with first cousin John Colleton) was granted extraordinary

powers to grant “title of honor” to hundreds of thousands of acres of land.

In January 1665, the lord proprietors issued a document to allow early

Carolina settlers self-government, freedom of religion and generous land

grants. Berkeley and other lords were entrusted with the “full and absolute

power” to determine the constitution and approbation of the provinces.

Lord Berkeley’s influence and leadership were instrumental in the export

of Sea Island cotton from Barbados and the Bahamas to the Carolinas.

The development of the cotton trade aided the settlement of Beaufort County,

where cotton was the primary crop. Because of the role Berkeley played in

the history of this part of South Carolina, the Berkeley family crest has been

adopted as the logo for Berkeley Hall and the Berkeley Hall Club.

The Center of Paradise

Picture a place so peaceful, so scenic, and yet so full of life it not only draws you

back year after but also seems to seep into your very soul. The natural beauty

of the Lowcountry is as legendary as its gentle climate, breathtaking beaches,

and the treasures of its historic coastal towns. The pace of life is slower in the

Lowcountry. People are warm, friendly and easy to know. For many, the

region is the getaway destination of choice, but for a fortunate few, it is home.

Berkeley Hall, edged on the banks of the pristine Okatie River, is set on

nearly 1,000 unspoiled acres in the heart of the Lowcountry. The community

is ideally located – just minutes from Hilton Head Island, within a half hour’s

drive of historic Beaufort, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia; and within

two short hours of Charleston – offering an endless universe of world-class

cuisine, shopping, and attractions combined with fine Southern charm.

Voted “One of America’s 100 Premier Properties” by both Links Magazine and

Travel & Leisure Golf, Berkeley Hall is a private world with a casual, inviting

lifestyle that sets the standard for all private communities. Its surroundings,

its natural beauty, and the way the place lives are simply beyond compare.

36-Holes of Fazio “Core” Golf

Great golf is the very heart of Berkeley Hall, and golf in its purest form

awaits you at the most distinguished private golf club community in golfrich

Hilton Head. With no interior homes or roads, two Tom Fazio “core

golf” courses meander through an open coastal landscape framed by seaside

grasses. A round of golf feels like a walk in the park rather than a ride through

a subdivision. Dramatic elevation changes, beautiful water features, and bold,

strategic bunkering showcase the designer’s artistry.

The North Course at Berkeley Hall is one of the finest and

most dramatic courses I have ever designed.” ~ Tom Fazio

The North Course is a marvel of tranquil lakes, bold fairways,

challenging bunkers and large contoured Champion Bermudagrass greens.

The combination of elevation changes, open vistas, native grasses, water

features and strategically placed bunkers give the North Course an

unmatched beauty of its own.

“We may have saved the best for last.” ~ Tom Fazio on the South Course

The South Course offers a classic parkland golf experience, with a canopy

of mature forest and a backdrop of the meandering Okatie River. Tree-lined

fairways, glistening lakes and boldly contoured green complexes create a

dramatic and challanging Lowcountry beauty.
