Fall 2015
NFPA Conference in Hawaii continued
was a great evening and another opportunity to meet paralegals from
around the country. In fact, throughout the entire conference, there
were a lot of opportunities for networking.
On Saturday morning I attended the policy meeting where new
officers were elected for the upcoming year. The meeting opened with
a local Boy Scout Den presenting the colors and President Lisa Vessels,
RP, CP, FRP addressing the attendees. In the afternoon, there were
several agenda topics up for discussion. They included changes to the
PACE requirements and the request that NFPA write a position statement
on the concept of Licensed Legal Technicians. The meeting was
very procedural and formal.
I found this to be a great experience and one of the best vacations
I have ever had. I met some wonderful paralegals and heard some
amazing stories of dedication to our profession by all the individual
and association award recipients. I feel honored to have had the opportunity
to represent the MPA at this year’s conference and I cannot wait
to attend next year in Vermont.
