EDITO
Notre objectif est de parvenir à
un accord universel, ambitieux.
Our primary goal is to achieve
an ambitious, universal agreement.
universel, ambitieux, juridiquement
contraignant, qui permette de limiter
effectivement à 2 degrés, ou 1,5 si possible,
le réchauffement de la planète d’ici 2100.
Cet accord intergouvernemental constitue
excellente COP21.
Laurent Fabius
Ministre des Affaires étrangères
et du Développement international
195
countries will come together from
30 th November to 11 th December
at Le Bourget for a series of
discussions that represent the culmination
of months of work, negotiations and action.
Our primary goal is to achieve an
intergovernmental agreement—an ambitious,
universal agreement—that is legally binding
and that will enable the plant’s global warming
to be restricted to 2 degrees or, if possible,
1.5 degrees by 2100.
This intergovernmental agreement is the central
but not the only challenge confronting the Paris
Conference. It is our aim that this conference
should also be an opportunity to bring
together commitments by non-governmental
organizations in the fight against climate change,
whether they be companies, cities, regions,
associations or civil society. This is what we refer
to as the ‘Lima-Paris Action Agenda’.
In this context, it is proposed in particular
that companies should make quantified
commitments to reducing their greenhouse
gas emissions and to publishing them on the
NAZCA platform that the United Nations has set
up. Each, from start-up to multinational, can and
must make its contribution. The most ambitious
commitments will be highlighted during the Paris
Conference Action Day on 5 th December, as well
as during other themed events.
In parallel, we also wanted to set aside a space
for innovative companies pursuing climate
action. This 10,000 sqm plus space, the ‘Galerie
des solutions’, is being organized by Reed
Exhibitions, to whom I would like to express
my thanks. Here, companies can exhibit their
technological solutions designed to help save
the planet, whether it be through mitigating
greenhouse gas emissions or adaptation to
the already emerging effects of climate change.
Outside this Galerie, conferences and exhibitions
are being organized in all parts of the Le Bourget
site and especially in the areas set aside for civil
society, in what we have called the ‘Climate
Generations Areas’. These areas are open to
the public and are free of charge. I urge you to
visit them in order to meet other civil society
stakeholders and to share your solutions for a
low carbon economy.
Given the pressing nature of the threat and
the extent of the challenge that climate change
represents, it is essential that governments are
engaged but that alone will not be enough. It
is essential that all are committed and this is
particularly true for companies. I count on
them, on you, and I wish you an excellent COP21.
quelles SOLUTIONS
CLIMAT pour lES
ACTEURS éCONOMIQUES
What climate solutions for
companies and organisations?
PME, starts-up, organismes de recherche,
« business as usual » amènerait à augmenter
Difficile
à concevoir. Et si l’on changeait plutôt la
manière de faire ce business ? Pour filer la
métaphore, à la manière du professeur Kevin
Anderson, climatologue au Tyndall Center on
Climate Change Research (Royaume-Uni), on
industriels, grands groupes, associations,
citoyens…, on assiste depuis quelques années
à la naissance de coopération inédites, entre
acteurs qui autrefois ne se fréquentaient
guère, ou peu. Or c’est justement grâce à des
alliances nouvelles que des idées nouvelles
naissent.
NEW ALLIANCES DELIVERING
CLIMATE PROTECTION
Doing things differently, yes, but how?
Where can one find the ideas to
develop new processes, to conceive,
to engage and to advance along the energy
transition pathway?
Private and public sector organizations, major
groups, SMEs, start-ups, research institutions
together amount to a formidable and diverse
array of talents stuffed with resources. It is
by cross-fertilizing and sharing these that the
strength to innovate and generate new synergies
can be unleashed in order to protect the planet.
The experts agree that ‘business as usual’ would
result in an increase in the planet’s average
temperature of 4 to 6 °C. What are the options?
A general slowdown in the pace of business?
That’s difficult to envisage. What if instead one
changed the way of doing business? To echo the
words of Professor Kevin Anderson, a climate
scientist at the Tyndall Centre on Climate Change
Research (United Kingdom), “going down the
same road more slowly is not the same thing
as taking the right road…”.
It is a question of going down a road towards an
economy that has a lower impact on resources
and the climate. Taking a different road allows
one to discover different places and to meet
new people, who are often heading the same
way, but without realizing it… This is precisely
the point of the new alliances that are being
forged in the eco-technologies. Private sector,
public sector, researchers, manufacturers, major
groups, associations, private citizens, over the
last few years cooperation has emerged between
organizations that had previously had little or
nothing to do with each other. It is precisely from
such new alliances that new ideas are born.
LA SOBRIÉTÉ ET
L’EFFICIENCE SERVIES
rester optimiste.
CREATIVITY DELIVERING LOW
CONSUMPTION AND EFFICIENCY
W
hatever the degree of constraint
and ambition that is finally
decided upon at COP 21, in
practical terms there will be no alternative
to rolling up one’s sleeves and promoting an
efficient and restrained use of resources on
every front. At every scale, it is a challenge to
the planet’s future, and every one of us must
respond to it, not least because a wonderful
economic opportunity is also opening up as
the result of an innovative drive marked both
by its eclecticism and by the breakdown of
barriers between industries.
Over the last 25 years of monitoring technology
in the environment and energy sectors, the
most marked trend has been the gradual move
away from a silo-based approach to water, air
and waste, and of thinking of eco-activities
purely in terms of cost. This breakdown of the
partitions and the more systematic search for
cross-sector synergy has led to the emergence
of a new generation of eco-innovations that
reconcile the environment and the economy by
promoting low consumption and efficiency in the
use and management of resources and means.
In this creative, partition-free world waste
becomes an energy storage material, a source of
catalysts delivering increased process efficiency
or of by-products or effluents from which high
added value molecules or specific fuels can
be extracted; plant resources make headway
into the world of chemistry and materials; CO 2
emissions are now being used to feed algae
or a neighbouring factory, where they are
converted into hydrocarbons; waste water or
industrial discharges are being exploited for
their heat content; water treatment is making
it possible for water to be used for irrigation
etc... The list goes on and on because one could
easily add plenty of other trends in areas such
as the rapidly changing world of metrology
and data, which, through its compactness,
precision and connectivity, is becoming a means
of optimization even in the agricultural industry.
Finally, this creativity is being carried forward
by a more systematic look at the challenges
and a greater open-mindedness. Bio-mimicry is
one striking illustration of this. Observing and
Sur la Galerie des Solutions sur la COP21,
Cleantuesday s’est fixé 2 objectifs ;
permettre aux startups, de pouvoir être
présentes et visibles pour accéder aux
décideurs internationaux, et mettre en
avant l’innovation contre le changement
climatique. Ces objectifs sont atteints
grâce à la présence sur le pavillon
Cleantuesday de Carbios, Voltaware,
SP3H, TEEO, Innoveox, OHT, Deinove,
Geocorail dans les domaines clefs que
sont l’énergie, les transports, l’eau,
l’efficacité énergétique et les matériaux.
Cleantuesday has set itself two goals in
the COP21 Galeries des Solutions. Firstly,
to make it possible for start-ups to be
present and visible so that they can gain
access to international decision makers,
and, secondly, to highlight innovation for
dealing with climate change. These goals
have been achieved thanks to the presence
in the Cleantuesday pavilion of Carbios,
Voltaware, SP3H, TEEO, Innoveox, OHT,
Deinove, Geocorail, which are involved in
such key fields as energy, transport, water,
energy efficiency and materials.
drawing inspiration from nature, which is—by
its very essence—economical with resources and
capable of adaptation, is one way of moving
forward towards an efficient and sustainable
future, and it is one that is already yielding
concrete results, particularly in the form of
innovations in energy and materials.
It is this openness of mind and readiness to
survey the full spread of eco-technologies that
we focus on every day at Green News Techno,
because it is this that makes unthinkable
connections possible, because it promotes a
systemic look at society’s problems and because,
by fostering a complementary approach, it
helps to prevent technological approaches
being ranged in opposition to each other. It is
undoubtedly crucial for the environmental and
economic transition, and it is one that offers us
grounds for optimism.
L’ÉCONOMIE CIRCULAIRE :
SOLUTION ET OPPORTUNITÉ
THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY,
SOLUTION AND OPPORTUNITY
Back in 1993, the world’s population had
already consumed more resources by
21 st October than the Earth is capable of
absorbing and regenerating in a whole year. By
2014, Earth Overshoot Day, calculated on the
basis of the global environmental footprint,
had moved forward to 20 th August.
The linear economic model of production and
consumption consumes considerable amounts
of energy and resources and is a heavy emitter
of greenhouse gases. The finite nature of
resources, the increasing volume of waste and
the accumulation of pollution represent increasing
threats to the well-being of people and at the same
time threaten the competitiveness of companies
and even the very survival of their activities.
The circular economy is one solution and it is also
an opportunity to engage in an environmental
transition that will deliver equilibrium for our
societies. The conclusions of our recent study,
written in conjunction with the EY team, are
unequivocal:
• The accounting method used up until now in
the international negotiations does not allow
the actual emissions from national economic
activity to be accounted for. The consumption
approach should be used as a complement to
the territorial approach.
• When the circular economy is adopted at the
heart of the corporate business model it reduces
greenhouse gas emissions. Case studies reveal
reductions of up to 34% in greenhouse gas
emissions compared with a linear production
model.
• It is essential to prioritize the use of recycled
raw materials over virgin raw materials, which
have significantly higher emission factors. For
example, the greenhouse gas emission factor
for the refining of aluminium is 19 times that
for recycled aluminium.
On top of these conclusions, we would add that
projections for the economic effects of the circular
economy show net gains of hundreds of thousands
of jobs in the re-employment and re-use sector,
as well as in various innovative services.
L’INGÉNIERIE,
UN ACTEUR-PIVOT FACE AU
CHANGEMENT CLIMATIQUE

d’emplois. Solution sociale, économique, et
Wind, a sustainable and
local energy solution
Today, the energy transition is a major
point for discussion and achieving the
goals set for reducing greenhouse gas
emissions will very much depend upon the
political will of governments. Wind power
has proven to be an important solution in
the transition to an energy supply based on
renewables.
Accelerating the energy transition
Clean and competitive, wind power contributes
to energy independence and the creation of local
growth and employment. It is a social, economical
and, clearly, environmentally friendly solution
that is integral to the fight against climate change.
Although it has been adopted by major industrial
powers in their energy transition models, wind
power is also an innovative solution for developing
countries, where it allows rural electrification
to be accelerated and the building of a varied
infrastructure.
Wind, a low cost means of economic
development
In a difficult economic situation, wind can offer
a solution both for countries that are industrial
leaders and ones that are developing and
emerging and whose economic growth involves
increasing energy supply. To this end, wind
power companies are active internationally and
especially in emerging and developing countries.
They are very much motors for local growth. This
positive dynamic, which they launched at COP20 in
Lima in the form of a series of fresh, international
undertakings, has been pursued in the field in
order to exploit and promote an energy model
that is in step with economic, environmental and
social expectations.
Wind power is a creator of jobs and strong
industries and in a number of developing
countries it allows access to low cost energy
to be improved. Today, it is now possible to
demonstrate to governments that economic
growth and greenhouse gas reduction can proceed
hand in hand.
ENGINEERING, A KEY PLAYER
IN DEALING WITH CLIMATE
CHANGE
Engineering companies are involved
in all the problems associated
with climate change and they are
at the heart of developing eco-innovative
solutions.
In response to these challenges, engineering
is gearing up and forging geographical and
technical alliances. For example, local partners
need to be involved when innovative solutions
are applied in developing countries. The alliances
that are being created bring mutual progress
for all concerned.
In order to develop cutting edge technical,
scientific and technological solutions,
engineering is working with numerous partners
from both the public and the private sectors, and
the technical capabilities that are being deployed
in this way are helping in fields as diverse as
building infrastructure, towns and industry…
According to Nicolas Jachiet, President of Syntec-
Ingénierie, “engineering is in the front line of
dealing with the challenges raised by climate
change. It is being employed by local authorities
and businesses in pursuit of reduced greenhouse
gas emissions.
It is also being mobilized in support of strategies
for adapting to climate change. The expertise
of engineering companies working on behalf of
sustainable development in various countries
and regions is a key element in their ability to
organize their resilience. Particular mention
should be made of biodiversity, which is
especially sensitive to climate imbalances, and
this is one of many fields in which engineering
companies must continue to act.”
COP 21 is an opportunity to put forward concrete
solutions and to show young people in particular
how professions such as engineering can act by
drawing on an alliance of soundly based skills
applied to the resolution of problems.
A specialist in coastal engineering since 2012, Géocorail is developing a system that allows rocky
material to be produced on the spot to counter coastal erosion or the undermining of marine structures.
Based on the electrolysis of seawater, this electrochemical process exploits the weak electric currents
circulating in seawater and sediments (sands, gravels, broken shells…). The latter gradually begin
to aggregate on a specially designed mesh and to form a rock that can be used as the site requires.

INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE CHALLENGES
Les enjeux des ressources et du climat
étant planétaires, World Efficiency
rassemble des innovations, savoirfaire
et compétences permettant de
gagner en sobriété développés par des
professionnels du monde entier. Ces
solutions ont vocation à s’adapter à
des contextes territoriaux distincts en
termes de développement économique,
d’accès aux ressources ou de climat. Ainsi,
au-delà de sa caractéristique multi-filière
(la manifestation couvre l’ensemble des
activités économiques), World Efficiency
Resource and climate challenges are
planet-wide, and therefore World
Efficiency draws on innovations,
know-how and expertise for reduced
consumption developed by professionals
from all around the world. These solutions
are designed to be adapted to regional
situations that differ in terms of economic
development, access to resources or in their
climates. Therefore, in addition to its crossindustry
approach (the event covers the full
range of economic activities), there is also
Hakima El Haite
Ministre de l’Energie,
des Mines, de l’Eau et de
l’Environnement du Maroc
Minister of Energy, Mines, Water
and Environment of Morocco
MOROCCO COMMITS TO SUPPORTING THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS
Morocco has always been committed to
a voluntary and strong approach to the
fight against global warming within
an integrated, participatory and responsible
framework.
Today, this political will is expressed through the
National Environment and Sustainable Development
Charter (CNEDD) and its adoption in the Framework
Law (99-12) supporting the CNEDD and in the 2011
constitution, which views sustainable development
as a right for all citizens. In this context, Morocco
has embarked on a transition towards a green
economy and has expressed its determination to
support the multilateral negotiating processes for
a new climate regime within the UNFCCC, with the
aim of achieving emission gradients capable of
limiting global warming to less than 2 °C above
the pre-industrial era. The Kingdom has therefore
drawn up a Green Investment Plan (PIV) and its
Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC)
so as to embrace a broad cooperation with all
relevant parties.
The contribution of the Kingdom draws on policies
that have already been embarked upon and
that are to be found at the heart of the strategic
challenges for the climate negotiations and COP21.
As part of this process, the King of Morocco and the
President of France launched the Tangiers Appeal
on 20 th September 2015, which calls for a shared,
joint initiative on behalf of the climate.
The major challenge for Morocco during COP21
will be to exploit this opportunity in support of the
economic development policies of the Kingdom
and in particular in helping to drive forward the
new industrial strategies geared towards sectors
for the future such as renewables, eco-industries,
bio-industries and the economies of the sea.
On this front, Morocco plans to use COP21 to
emphasize in particular its exceptional voluntary
mitigation effort and to ensure widespread adoption
of best adaptation practices in Africa (examples
of structural projects and initiatives launched by
local stakeholders).

LA CôTE D’IVOIRE INTèGRE LES OBJECTIFS
DE DéVELOPPEMENT DURABLE DANS TOUTES LES POLITIQUES
A
travers ses INDC, la Côte d’Ivoire
entend marquer sa volonté de
réduire l’empreinte carbone de son
développement en privilégiant les actions
d’atténuation et des actions d’adaptation
pour renforcer la résilience du pays aux
Changements Climatiques.
Alassane Ouattara
Président de la République
de la Côte d’Ivoire
President of the Republic
of the Ivory Coast
THE IVORY COAST INTEGRATES SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
GOALS INTO ALL ITS POLICIES
The Ivory Coast’s INDCs are designed to reflect
its desire to reduce the carbon footprint of
its development by focusing on mitigation,
as well as on strengthening its resilience to climate
change through adaptation measures.
It is estimated that its drive to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions should result in a 28% fall by 2030 in emissions
from three sectors: energy, agriculture and waste. In
order to achieve the results envisaged in the INDCs, it
is proposed to create an institutional framework to
implement the actions and a monitoring and evaluation
framework for communicating about, updating and
revising the INDCs. The aim is that the resources
required to achieve these INDCs should be drawn from
private finance, market mechanisms, the national
budget, technical and financial partnerships, and by
boosting the mitigation and adaptation capabilities
of decision makers and stakeholders; as well as by
technology transfer delivering low carbon technologies
and production process optimization.
What is more, the Ivory Coast has decided to plough
a new agricultural development pathway, which will
gradually move away from deforestation by investing
in settlement and in improving the productivity of
farms, coupled with a better application of forest
and land laws.
Here, through engagement in the REDD+ mechanism
(reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from
deforestation and forest degradation), the Ivory Coast
ministries responsible for agriculture, the environment
and forests intend to promote a ‘zero deforestation
agriculture’ in support of both agricultural development
and development of the forest sector. This involves
promoting an agricultural policy that encourages a
more intensive agriculture rather than the extension
of cultivation into forested areas.
A new Forest Code was also introduced in July 2014,
and one of its goals is for the country to restore forest
coverage to 20%. The Ivory Coast has signed the New
York Declaration on Forests, which aims to eliminate
deforestation linked to agricultural production. At the
United Nations itself, during the Climate Summit held
in September 2014, the President of the Republic of
the Ivory Coast announced the country’s intention
of embarking on a transition to zero deforestation
agriculture and of restoring forest coverage, with
the aim being for forests to cover 20% of the
country’s land area.
The Ivory Coast also intends to promote clean sources of
energy and renewables in order to substantially reduce
its greenhouse gas emissions, and to contribute towards
achieving the goal of limiting the planet’s warming to 2
°C. The country’s energy mix is currently dominated by
fossil fuels (75.5% share) and the aim is to rebalance it
by significantly increasing the use of clean sources of
energy and renewables.
A new electricity code has therefore been adopted that
encourages the generation of electricity from renewable
sources and that promotes energy efficiency.
Renewables, which account for 5% of the installed
capacity in 2015, will rise to 15% in 2020 and 20% in
2030 thanks to the development of solar energy, biomass
and small-scale hydroelectricity. Energy efficiency will
contribute 20%.
In the run up to 2020 and the country’s emergence,
the current priority in the Ivory Coast is to integrate
sustainable development goals into all of its policies
and to achieve effective agreements for the fight
against climate change by involving multinationals
and large groups concerned about the environment
in its investment strategies.

COP21 : OBJECTIF 2°C
COP21: 2 °C GOAL
CLIMATE COMMITTED FRENCH AND CHINESE COMPANIES
In the context of COP21, French and
Chinese companies are strengthening
their partnerships in pursuit of a more
sustainable world.
France and China have defined their national
strategies in the fight against climate change.
China is promoting the idea of an environmentfriendly
civilization and has set ambitious goals.
France, through its energy transition law,
will increase the contribution of renewables,
cut its CO 2 emissions and reduce its energy
consumption. These policies dovetail and amplify
the Franco-Chinese economic partnership.
It is against such a background that the France-
China Committee, jointly chaired by Jean-Pascal
TRICOIRE, CEO of SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, and
Jean-Louis CHAUSSADE Managing Director of
SUEZ, is shining the spotlight on 5 green projects
being pursued by French and Chinese companies.
Whether it be the hydrogen powered vehicles of
Air Liquide, the development of renewables in
China through the use of the Dassault Systèmes’
3DEXPERIENCE platform to improve the design,
engineering and management of CHIDI’s
hydroelectric power plant construction projects,
Schneider Electric’s advice to CNBM over the
setting of targets, the defining of strategy
and energy efficiency measures, the first zero
emission l’Oréal factory in the Asia-Pacific region
or the extraction of energy and the creation
of new resources from the treatment of waste
water by SUEZ; these 5 projects demonstrate the
commitment of companies in China to reducing
their carbon footprint, and are very much a part
of the logic of transition, energy efficiency and
the circular economy.
These projects were presented at the Franco-
Chinese Economy & Climate Summit in Beijing
on 3 rd November 2015 held in conjunction with
the official visit to China of François HOLLANDE.
They will also feature in the Galerie des Solutions
during COP21 and particular in the course
of the China Day on 4 th December. This will
close with the presentation of the 2015 Climate
Solutions Innovation Awards for Franco-
Chinese Teams, organized by the France-China
Committee, sponsored by the Ministry of the
Economy, Industry and the Digital World and
in partnership with MEDEF.
This represents a call for deeper business
collaboration between the two countries in
order to ensure that the stock of company
expertise benefits generations to come for the
future of the planet.

Challenger / Challenger
More than 20 years after it was originally constructed, Bouygues
Construction has decided to undertake a complete refurbishment
of its head office, Challenger, located in Guyancourt, to the
west of Paris.
BUSINESS TOURS
Bouygues Construction’s intention was to limit energy consumption
on the site to make it a flagship example of sustainable renovation.
Furthermore, the Group wanted to improve the comfort of its
employees (rethinking of the work spaces, redesign of car parks
and optimization of acoustic and thermal insulation). New
interior features in Challenger offer the highest possible comfort,
performance and safety.
Challenger brings together new-generation equipment designed
to achieve optimal management of energy and a reduction of
their consumption. Taking account of the environment in all its
dimensions, Challenger uses the site’s natural resources – sun,
water and land – to produce the green energy it requires to operate.
The majority of glazed facades were replaced by a ventilated
double-skin facade to improve the thermal performance of the
outer shell. This facade improves the insulation of the building
thanks to the circulation of natural air between the interior double
glazing and the exterior single glazing. Considered very much
a natural resource, the ground surrounding the buildings has
geothermal devices installed in it. To make the best possible use
of solar energy, more than 25,500 m2 of photovoltaic panels are
distributed over the terraces, the solar farm and the roofs of the
Cockpit and the technical building. Challenger is also equipped
with an installation for recycling and reusing wastewater and
stormwater by a phyto-purification system.
Today, Challenger is more than a pleasant and efficient working
space for some 3,200 employees. It is also a showcase displaying
Bouygues construction’s know-how and expertise, and is one of
the first positive-energy commercial buildings.
Challenger has become the first building in the world to achieve
triple certification: LEED®, HQE®, BREEAM®. It also features a
control room (the Cockpit) running the Hypervision® system.
This room measures the consumption, production and recovery
of energy.
Le LinkyLab / The LinkyLab
35000 collaborateurs assurent l’exploitation, l’entretien
ERDF manages the public electricity distribution network for
95% of continental France. Every day, its 35,000 employees
oversee the operation, maintenance and development of a
nearly 1.3 million km network. Today’s electric meters are
mostly electromechanical meters: they measure consumption
and require a technician if a change in power or an outage
occurs. Linky is a communicating meter, able to receive orders
and transmit information remotely. Installed in end-consumer’s
properties and linked to a supervision center, it is in constant
interaction with the network. This is what makes it «intelligent».
In 2010, over 250,000 Linky meters were installed by ERDF.
In order to secure a 20 year lifetime for the Linky smart meters,
ERDF has conceived its very own laboratory. Linkylab is the
first smart meter laboratory in Europe. Fifteen different types
of products, thousands of meters are tested and stored in this
facility. The purpose of this lab is to ensure the meters can
evolve as quickly as our current environment, to meet clients’
future expectations, at the heart of digital transition. By 2021,
the Linky smart meter will gradually replace the electricity
meters for 35 million clients in France.
Technical and economic impact studies, electricity consumption
reports, fuel poverty analysis, optimization of renewable
energy connections, smart grid demonstrators and support
for highspeed broadband are features in the range of solutions
promoted by ERDF and form part of its low-carbon development
strategy.

Green Office ® Rueil, immeuble de bureaux à énergie positive
Green Office ® Rueil, an example of positive-energy office building
130 foyers. Symbole de la démarche innovante de Bouygues
Immobilier en matière de développement durable, Green
Office® Rueil bénéficiera de multiples certifications telles
BREEAM® Europe Commercial Offices niveau Very Good
Located in the heart of a mixed development zone in Rueil-
Malmaison, west of Paris, and designed by the architect Jean-Michel
Wilmotte, Green Office® Rueil is a positive-energy building: in the
course of a year, the building produces more decarbonised energy
than it uses for its operation. Divided into two separate buildings,
this Green Office® is a combination of energy performance and
user well-being.
Green Office® Rueil boasts a bioclimatic design. Giving priority
to natural light and ventilation, it reduces the amount of energy
consumed by occupants. Features include: an innovative active plate
system which transforms the building’s concrete floors into a heating
or cooling storage system; heating, air-conditioning and ventilation
using geothermal heat from the water table; a central energy control
system that offers automatic management of lighting, heating,
blinds and air-conditioning, continuous information about the
building’s energy consumption and production, and 4,000 m2 of
photovoltaic panels producing renewable energy. All these cuttingedge
technologies mean that the minimum energy consumption
of Green Office® Rueil is 35-40% less than the requirement under
2012 Thermal Regulations. In addition, even this low consumption
is offset by a photovoltaic power plant A symbol of Bouygues
Immobilier’s innovative approach to sustainable development,
Green Office® Rueil has both BREEAM® International certification,
the most widely used environmental evaluation system for buildings
in the world and HQE® High Environmental Quality certification.
L’éco-quartier de Clichy-Batignolles
The Clichy-Batignolles Eco district
panneaux photovoltaïques, soit 4 500 MWh par an.
The new Eco district Clichy-Batignolles has developed within a
northwest Parisian territory. Clichy-Batignolles is an experimental
site of Paris environmental policies, notably through the
implementation of the Climate Plan and of the Biodiversity Plan.
In the district, buildings energy needs are widely covered by
renewable energies thanks to geothermal wells created by Eau de
Paris. Eau de Paris has realized an innovative work combining both
household heating and water supply in case of water shortage.
Today, 83% of Clichy-Batignolles needs of heat are covered by this
well. In ten years, it will represent a saving of 35,000 tons of CO2
emissions. In order to reduce even more the carbon footprint,
incompressible consumptions (such as elevators, public lighting)
are compensated by the development of photovoltaic electricity with
40, 000 sq.m of panels producing 4,500 MWh per year. Regarding
water management, the project aims to reduce by 50% rainwater
discharges with a recovery system. The Eco district is also using
innovative technologies for environmental waste management.
Inhabitants benefit from the first Parisian installation of pneumatic
collection of waste. The use of such a system of collection by
underground inhalation enables to dramatically reduce noise and
pollution. This new technology integrates with a global prevention,
recycling and waste recovery plan. It allows to reduce by 42%
greenhouse gas emissions, by 98% carbon monoxide, by 86%
nitrogen oxide and by 90% particle emissions.
