BOB STEINER

BOB STEINER
Top Agent Bob Steiner says moving to The Hamptons
and starting a real estate career is “the best move I
ever made.” This native New Yorker was managing
restaurants in the city when he and his wife decided
to make the move, thinking it would be a wonderful
place to raise a family. “There are probably only about
3,000 people who live here year ‘round,” he explains.
“10 months out of the year it’s a sleepy little hamlet;
it’s great to have that small-town feel but not be too far
from the city.”
A licensed REALTOR ® since 1999, Bob serves the area
from the Shinnecock Canal to Montauk with residential
real estate services. “I guess you’d call me a one-stop
shop,” he says. “I work with first time home buyers,
sellers, commercial properties, and vacation rentals.”
Bob cites his availability, patience, and timely communication
as things that give him a competitive
advantage. “We live in this age of instant gratification,
especially on the internet,” he says.
“People want instantaneous results;
if they have a question for an agent,
they don’t want to wait. If I don’t
engage with them immediately, they
will click on someone else’s name
or listing.” Despite real estate being
a 24/7 business, Bob understands
there’s an art to that communication.
“Timely communication is crucial,
but there’s a fine line,” he says. “I
have to respond to an initial inquiry
right away, but then pull back and be
patient with clients. No one likes a
pushy salesperson.”
In fact, it’s Bob’s willingness to be
patient and go at the clients’ own
pace that has garnered him unshakable
client loyalty and, in turn, referrals.
“I had clients who rented a
long time out here; they wanted a
spe cific type property and had a budget
of about $4 million,” he explains.
“After knowing and working with them for five
years, we found the property they wanted for $1.3
million,” he continues. “It was really gratifying
because it came in way under their budget, but
also because by being patient and waiting, they got
exactly what they wanted.”
“I’m selling a lifestyle—my goal is to
welcome my buyers to the area,
so they can make the best possible
investment decision.”
Buying or selling a home can be a very emotional
and stressful process, and Bob is respectful of that.
“If you want a quick buck and live in a small town
and sell somebody something just for the sake of
the sale, it will come back and bite you,” he says.
“There’s nothing more gratifying than sitting with
someone who has purchased a home from me and
having them say years later, ‘This was the best
decision I ever made.’”
Bob lives and works by the motto: “Customers become
neighbors and neighbors become friends.”
“I’m selling a lifestyle – my goal is to welcome
my buyers to the area, so they can make the best
possible investment decision”.
Being involved in the community is very im portant
to Bob and his family. “We like to stay connected
– whether it’s to our local church, our daughter’s
school, and our local library. We are also members
of Guild Hall in East Hampton, The Children’s
Museum of the East End, and the
Parrish Museum in Southampton. In
NYC, we are proud members of the
Whitney Museum of Fine Art and
Going forward, Bob has plans to
grow his business by adding additional
team members. “I would lik
e to have someone on my team who
just concentrates on social media
and marketing– staying on top of
Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and
Google Ads is rather daunting for
one person! The objective, as with
any brand, is to one day make Bob
Steiner a household name!”
When he’s not busy helping clients,
there’s a good chance you’ll find
Bob taking photos of anything that
catches his eye. “It’s been a passion
of mine for a long time. I just like
capturing the world that way.”
