STANDING ON ITS OWN FEET: THE START-UP REGION NORTH WEST
There’s no lack of entrepreneurial spirit in the Oldenburger
Land. Certainly not judging by the many company
start-ups that have got off the ground successfully
with expert support from various regional institutions.
They shoot on target in the TGO (Technology and Start-Up
Centre). But this has less to do with troublesome tenants
and much more to do with the table soccer that someone
has put up in the stairwell. Here staff working for the resident
companies like to gather to celebrate successful
achievements or discuss new ideas. This mixture of crea -
tivity, productivity and relaxation in the midst of everyday
work procedures creates ideal prerequisites.
It’s a concept that’s paying off: ever since 2003, the complex
on Marie-Curie-Strasse has constantly been operating
at 90 percent capacity and has been the business address
for more than 200 companies over the last twelve years.
Just one reason why the TGO is proud to bear the award
“Best Technology Centre Worldwide” issued by the Technopolicy
Network. “For comparatively low rental costs,
I get an infrastructure covering all tasks that my company
needs now and in the future”, says Lorenz Donau, CEO of
Donau Data Engineering. His company offers an IT concept
for the documentation, control and optimisation of
manual work processes in companies, and profited from
the whole set-up in the building particularly during the
early days.
The table soccer also stands for another advantage: according
