Where do you see the region in another ten years from
now?
We have already started to tackle some of the challenges
that the future will bring: these include demographic
development for example, or cutting carbon dioxide.
Ageing society means we have to do more for our health,
also in the companies. We also have to tap into the huge
potential offered by the region in terms of the way
women’s employment is still under-represented. And we
must make it clear how attractive the region is for skilled
workers. When it comes to climate change, we already
have a number of innovative projects that put us up there
in the lead. In my view, there are great chances for the
region. We offer the fortunate combination of a prospering
economy, a stable job market and a highly attractive
environment to live in. We have to portray these factors
clearly to the outside world, also by showing that here
in the region we all pull together. In ten years, the region
will have an even better footing than it has today. I’m
absolutely certain of that.
