The big news is the departure of Harry Smith, although it is sad to see him go there were some
plusses in the deal as the secretary has eluded to. The transfer fee will help us pay the players
wages, and in turn help us to steer clear of the debt that has saddled some other clubs, such as
Forest Green Rovers who it has just been announced are £5.2 Million in debt, an eye watering
amount! Rest assured that our wage bill compares with most clubs at our level and we intend to
keep it that way as long as we can. Of course some clubs continue to get the rub of the green
as far as finances are concerned, such as Salford City who have twice been chosen to be a live
FA Cup game, very unfair in my view, could it possibly be because they had been subject to a
BBC mini series!
Just read that our ex manager Richard Brady has decided to call time as manager of Leatherhead
after leaving us 5 years ago. We are
proud that we gave him his first chance as a
manager and he has done excellently at
Leatherhead. Richard is to become the
head of football development at the club, a
post newly created for him. He cites wanting
to spend more time with his young family
as the reason for the change.
Results continue to disappoint and I thought
that I would look at the video of the Hythe
Town game on their web site to see if Steven
Ita did encroach at the free kick as the
goal subsequently scored changed the
game. Surprise, surprise the only clip included
was the retake which culminated in
the Hythe Town goal, I wonder why the
most crucial bit was missed out!
Lets hope that we can turn the tide today !
