Nationwide Platforms has taken delivery of 90 Versalift access platforms from
Versalift UK greatly expanding the company’s fleet of vehicle mounts.
We have made several
changes to the magazine
and plan to distribute a new
edition 3-4 times a year.
2015 has been a busy
year. The orders have kept
flowing in, and at ICUEE
we celebrated the 50th
anniversary of TIME and
Versalift and launched
several new products.

TIME marked the 50 th anniversary of TIME and the Versalift brand at ICUEE 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky and
at the distributor meeting prior to the show.

With a record high attendance - up 13% from 2013 - ICUEE 2015 was a successful show for TIME.

The 2015 edition of the
International Construction
and Utility Equipment
Exposition (ICUEE) was a
record-breaking edition with
more than 18,000 registered
attendees - the most ever
recorded. The exposition
was hosted in the Kentucky
Exposition Center in Louisville,
Kentucky and ran
from the 29 th of September
to the 1 st of October. The
main DEMO units on the
TIME stand were the new
66 m Skybird 215I, the new
Versalift VTP-40-NE cable
placer and several new
Heavy Duty additions to the
Versalift VST product line
of insulated articulated telescopic
access platforms.

Unveiled at ICUEE, the brand new 66 m Skybird 215I is the result of a unique collaboration between TIME
Manufacturing Company and Ruthmann. The unit complies with ANSI Cat. A (500 kV) and is available now.

The brand new Skybird
215I is the result of a
unique collaboration
between TIME and
Ruthmann.
The base unit is a 5 stage
telescopic Ruthmann
while the insulated upper
boom and cage have been
developed by TIME.
Unique features
As the only unit in its
category, the Skybird 215I
has a telescopic upper
boom which allows the
unit to access a greater
range of worksites.
The outreach is variable
depending on the cage
load and features an
impressive 32.0 metres of
outreach at loads below
100 kg. This feature gives
the Skybird 215I the largest
working area in its class.
Fiber optic controls
The upper and lower control
panels feature fiber optic
controls with 2 joysticks
and a cleartext display with
sensor outputs and error
diagnostics.
Several automatic
functions are available
including the memory
function (in which the
platform remembers a fixed
position) and auto setup
and packing programmes.
Superior performance
The Skybird 215I is in a
league of its own and beats
its closest competitor, the
65 m cat. A 500 kV Palfinger
WT650I on every imaginable
performance parameter.
The Skybird has extra
working height (+1.0 m), a
higher max outreach (+5.0
m), extra cage and material
handler capacity (+50/+100
kg) and a shorter jacking
width (-15 cm in short and
-20 cm in full jacking).
The Skybird is available
on European and American

The Versalift VTP-40-NE is a
non-insulated, full hydraulic
access platform built for
placing telecommunications
and fiber optic cables on
telephone poles. It is a
completely new product
category for Versalift.
The Versalift VTP-40-NE
has a reel capacity of 3630
kg and can support a cable
reel with a max diameter of
208 cm and a width of 170
cm. The reel drive features a
max pull of 590 kg at a 30 cm
radius and can be controlled
both from the lower and
upper control panels.
The machine has a 20%
larger cage compared to
competitors with a cage size

The best-selling series
of articulated telescopic

the VST series, has been
upgraded and expanded.

The biggest adition is the

East relocates
A new series of hydraulic
elevators increases the
working height and allows
selected Versalift’s to work
over open traffic lanes.
The elevators are part of
a modular system available
for selected Versalift VT,
VDT, VO and VST models and
are available in three sizes
for a wide range of different
combinations of access
platforms and elevators.
The elevators are placed
directly under the unit and
provide stepless elevation.

location is in close proximity

The Versalift VTX-240
combines a very advanced
boom design of two,
3-stage telescopic booms
with surprisingly easy to
use controls making the
3.5 t access platform a
very interesting choice for
equipment and access rental
companies.
boom essentially acts as
a “telescopic elevator” for
the main boom making the
VTX-240 capable of providing
access up to 10 m up and
12.5 m out.
Intuitive controls
The VTX-240 has auto setup
and packing (including auto
levelling of the outriggers).
After auto setup has been
performed, the lower boom
will have been raised to a
perfectly vertical position
with the upper boom slightly
below horizontal. From this
position, operating the VTX-
240 is easy using the two
joysticks.
The auto functions make it
very easy to operate the VTX-
240 and the colour display
in the cage will guide the
operator through any errors.
In tight spaces, the VTX-
240 is capable of setting
up its outriggers in short or
mixed jacking (with a limited
outreach).
Up and over
The Versalift VTX-240
provides easy access up
and over buildings or
obstacles. The vehicle can
be parked right next to
buildings or in alleys due to
the perfectly vertical lower
boom. The vertical lower

The controls are intuitive and auto
setup (including auto levelling of
the outriggers) + auto packing help
with otherwise difficult actions.

The operator can access worksites
located 3.3 metres below ground
level for harbor quay or light bridge

The end mounted cage has just 6
cm ground clearance making the
VTX suitable for tasks on flat rooftops
inaccessible with other units.
