Use the Slide Over option to access a second app while still using the first.

■ Split View —When using the iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, or iPad Pro, after you’ve

opened a second app using the Slide Over option, place your finger on the

horizontal app divider bar and drag it to the left to launch Split View mode.

This enables both apps to run in equal-sized windows on the tablet’s screen.

Split View works better if you hold your iPad sideways in landscape mode

(shown in Figure I.6). By swiping the app divider bar left or right, it’s possible

to readjust the size of the two app windows.

■ Picture in Picture —When using compatible apps on your iPad that enable

you to watch video, it’s possible to display a small video window on your

screen, while using the majority of the screen to work with another app altogether

(shown in Figure I.7). This feature is currently supported by the iPad

Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2/3/4, and iPad Pro.
