The Parent & Family Development
Council is committed to cultivating
and fostering a tradition of philanthropy
among the parent constituency of students
on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus for the
duration of Ever True: The Campaign for Purdue
University and beyond.

COUNCIL INVOLVEMENT
The Parent & Family Development Council, organized through the Office of the Vice
Provost for Student Life, is a community of dedicated Purdue families who understand
that philanthropy is a part of this University’s DNA—and is necessary for its continued
success. They understand the importance of engaging all parents in this tradition of giving.
Council members are asked to:
/// Lead the gift-giving effort through contributions to the Purdue Parents Fund with
an annual commitment of $5,000 or more.
/// Become ambassadors and representatives of the University at educational and social
activities for new and prospective parents.
/// Actively assist in identifying, engaging, and attracting support from prospective parent donors,
including coordination with senior university leadership, development staff, and volunteers.
/// Inform and participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing various fundraising activities
aimed at prospective donors.
/// Advance the mission of Purdue by promoting Ever True: The Campaign for Purdue University.

BENEFITS
Members of the Parent & Family Development Council have the opportunity to:
/// Participate in small group meetings with senior University leadership.
/// Get to know other parents during Parent & Family weekend, regional receptions,
and other special events.
/// Serve as an advocate for Purdue to those who have yet to connect to the institution.

SUPPORT
The Purdue Parents Fund supports programs, departments, and initiatives that
are of critical concern to parents and students alike. Such programs foster student
health, safety, and well-being, including:
/// Purdue Advocacy and Support Center “Gatekeeper” training for faculty
and staff to support students during times of mental health crisis.
/// Civic Engagement & Leadership Development’s Women’s
Leadership Institute to empower Purdue women to be
the next generation of leaders.
/// Residential Life training to allow residence hall student
leaders to learn from peers and professionals to best
lead and develop their campus communities.
Gifts to the Parents Fund help carry out Purdue’s mission to
prepare students to succeed as future leaders, citizens,
and lifelong learners. Support of the Parents Fund also
enables the Vice Provost for Student Life to support
current programming and to pursue opportunities
important to students as they arise.
