COMMUNITY
RESOURCES
The Stevens Point area is
located in the heart of
Wisconsin, at the crossroads
of the Wisconsin
River Valley and the
Central Sands Region.
Stevens Point
When Stevens Point was founded in 1858, this was
a community of loggers, fur traders and brewers. The
community is still known for its outstanding beer and
so much more: companies such as Delta Dental,
Sentry Insurance, Travel Guard and Herrschners all
call this place home. The University of Wisconsin–
Stevens Point is one of the community’s treasures.
The 400-acre campus includes Schmeeckle Reserve,
the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame, the
Museum of Natural History, the Carlsten Art Gallery
and the Allen F. Blocher Planetarium.
Plover
Just south of Stevens Point on the east shore of the
Wisconsin River is the Village of Plover. This charming
community is conveniently located at the crossroads
