Montana School Counselor Association (MSCA) Awards
For your consideration in nominating deserving individual(s) in your school/community ...
Here are the goals behind each of these awards:
For Counselors
Annually, we recognize the best professionals in our field. We acknowledge the quality of service he/she
provides students, families, schools and districts in which he/she works. By nominating a school counselor for
this award, you are giving a well-deserved tribute to a colleague. Nominee must have been in the profession
for at least 3 years and must be an MSCA member.
For Advocates
The School Counselor Advocate of the Year nominees may be district or building level administrators, school
board members, legislators, supervisors of guidance services, or any other individuals who have made
significant contributions to the implementation and improvement of school counseling programs. The purpose
of the Advocate of the Year Award is to recognize persons who have demonstrated their belief in and support
of school counseling programs that have had an impact on counselors and their students at the local, state, or
national level.
If there is a colleague or individual who you think is deserving of recognition for the work they do for
our profession, please consider nominating them.
There are two routes to nominate someone:

Old School: You can find a link to the nomination form for Counselor of the Year and Advocate of the year
on our webpage: www.mtschoolcounselor.org. It just takes a moment to fill out and send in.
Paperless: Go to www.montana.schoolcounselorawards.org/scoy/. You will need to create an account ID
and password, then click on "Nominate Someone". You can then submit your nomination information and
attach any documentation you need. You can also relog-in later if you have additional documentation to
submit. Please be sure to select SCHOOL COUNSELOR or ADVOCATE on the nomination page under
