The American International Choral Festival March 16 - 20, 2016 Provo/Salt Lake City (UT), USA After the spectacular success of the 2012 World Choir Games in Cincinnati, INTERKULTUR is now working to spread this enthusiasm to other destinations within the United States. In 2016 the choirs of the world will sing together in Provo, Utah. Bearing the slogan “Singing and Joy”, the Sing'n'Joy Provo will be taking place from March 16 to 20, 2016. The Sing'n'Joy concept also includes concerts and manifold encounters between the participating choirs. In addition Conductors and Singers will be given the chance to attend master classes held by international choral experts and why not enjoy the beauty of the Utah valley, a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts! The competitions will be taking place in the Covey Center of the Arts and Brigham Young University will open their De Jong Concert Hall for the Opening and the Closing events. One of the highlights of the event will be ensembles from BYU Choral Department presenting their highest quality of choral singing in the Grand Opening and maybe also on other occasions during the festival. On Sunday, March 20, the choirs will have the opportunity to visit Salt Lake City and to sing there together with the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir! Experience as a highlight and closing of your stay in Utah a worldwide live broadcasted TV show at the Temple Square of "Music and the Spoken Word" and a Sing Along with the Tabernacle Choir! Sing’n’Joy <strong>Provo</strong> <strong>2016</strong>, has officially begun.<br />
The Brigham Young University School of<br />
Music is delighted to host the <strong>2016</strong> INTER-<br />
KULTUR festival, Sing’n’Joy. We welcome<br />
you to the BYU campus, situated in the<br />
foothills of the magnificent Rocky Mountains.<br />
Utah is home to the Mighty Five National<br />
parks, which are visited by millions of<br />
visitors from around the world each year.<br />
But more importantly, Utah has a tradition<br />
of deep appreciation for the fine arts, and<br />
especially for the art of choral singing.<br />
We are pleased to share our campus with<br />
the INTERKULTUR festival. We express our<br />
warm appreciation for the choirs who will<br />
participate, and wish to extend a special<br />
welcome to our international choir from<br />
Estonia.<br />
The world class adjudicators for this event<br />
come from across the globe:<br />
Professor Jan Schumacher, Germany; Professor<br />
Maria Guinand, Venezuela; and Dr.<br />
Ronald Staheli, USA, together with an excellent<br />
guest conductor, Fred Sjöberg, Sweden.<br />
We welcome them to our campus and<br />
express our appreciation for the contributions<br />
they will make to the festival.<br />
I would like to express appreciation to the<br />
organizers, coordinators, and all of the participants<br />
for their hard work in staging this<br />
wonderful event. And to each of the choirs<br />
who have prepared to participate, I wish<br />
